We are still on the way to my daughter Andrea’s sixth grade graduation, this time I am going to share with you what was the striping of the shirts. I don’t know if it is done in all countries but in Venezuela when the children change the color of the school uniform shirt they do what could be a symbolic ritual where with a marker they scratch the shirts leaving messages of congratulations with dedications and wishing success in the new stage they are about to begin.
This shirt is kept as a souvenir of all classmates, since many of them will not study together again because it is very likely that they will study high school in different schools. So this ceremony is very important for all of them. In fact, in my mother’s house I still keep my sixth grade shirt and it’s been many years since I went through that stage, but it’s a memory of my friends. So it makes me happy that this tradition is still preserved in the schools of the country and that still thank God they have not banned it.

Seguimos camino a la graduación de sexto grado de mi hija Andrea, esta vez voy a compartir con ustedes lo que fue el rayado de las camisas. No se si se hace en todos los países pero en Venezuela cuando los niños cambian el color de la camisa del uniforme escolar hacen lo que podría ser un ritual simbólico donde con un marcador rayan las camisas dejando mensajes de felicitaciones con dedicatorias y deseando éxito en la nueva etapa que están por comenzar.
Esta camisa se guarda como recuerdo de todos los compañeros, ya que muchos de ellos no volverán a estudiar juntos porque es muy probable que cursen el bachillerato en diferentes colegios. Así que esta ceremonia es muy importante para todos ellos. De hecho, en casa de mi madre aún conservo mi camisa de sexto de primaria y hace muchos años que no paso por esa etapa, pero es un recuerdo de mis amigos. Así que me hace feliz que esta tradición aún se conserve en las escuelas del país y que todavía gracias a Dios no la hayan prohibido.
The striping of the shirts was done the same day of the presentation of the life project, which I shared with you in my last publication in the community, as I mentioned in that opportunity the activity was fast, the children were specific in what they wanted to be in the short, medium and long term and therefore at 10 in the morning it was already finished. This would be their last academic evaluation and therefore they were no longer going to wear the white shirt.
Everyone who had worn a different outfit for their project presentation then changed shirts, as was the case with Andrea who did the presentation in the Musicales flannel and then wore a white shirt that had accompanied her for several years in elementary school. I bought her a black and blue two-pointed marker exclusively for that and all the kids were super excited.
El rayado de las camisas se realizó el mismo día de la presentación del proyecto de vida, el cual les compartí en mi última publicación en la comunidad, como mencioné en esa oportunidad la actividad fue rápida, los niños fueron específicos en lo que querían ser a corto, mediano y largo plazo y por lo tanto a las 10 de la mañana ya había terminado. Esta sería su última evaluación académica y por lo tanto ya no iban a usar la camisa blanca.
Todos los que habían usado un atuendo diferente para hacer la presentación de su proyecto luego cambiaron de camisa, como fue el caso de Andrea que hizo la presentación con la franela Musicales y luego usó una camisa blanca que la acompañó por varios años en la primaria. Le compré un marcador de dos puntas, negro y azul, exclusivamente para eso y todos los niños estaban súper emocionados.
But before starting we wanted to make one of those videos that appear in tik tok where students make a tunnel and then come out of it waving to the camera that is arranged almost on the ground. Well, that took us quite a while because the excitement of the kids was so high that it was almost impossible for them to pay attention and concentrate, in the end we achieved our goal although Andrea in the final video came out of the tunnel and did not greet the camera 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
When they began to leave the dedications on the t-shirts of their classmates the atmosphere was of laughter and friendship, the parents all we did was take pictures to record everything. For some reason one of the girls also brought colorful watercolor paint and they even ended up with their hands marked on their t-shirts and their faces painted. They had a pretty joyful time, although it was short because before noon it was all over. I love these moments that will remain in their memories for life and I am happy to be able to accompany Andrea in each of these activities.
Pero antes de empezar queríamos hacer un video de esos que salen en tik tok donde los estudiantes hacen un túnel y luego salen de él saludando a la cámara que está dispuesta casi en el suelo. Bueno, eso nos llevó un buen rato porque la excitación de los muchachos era tan alta que era casi imposible que prestaran atención y se concentraran, al final conseguimos nuestro objetivo aunque Andrea en el vídeo final salió del túnel y no saludó a la cámara 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Cuando empezaron a dejar las dedicatorias en las camisetas de sus compañeros el ambiente era de risas y amistad, los papás lo único que hicimos fue hacer fotos para dejar constancia de todo. Por alguna razón una de las niñas también trajo pintura de acuarela de colores y terminaron hasta con las manos marcadas en las camisetas y la cara pintada. Pasaron un rato bastante alegre, aunque fue corto porque antes del mediodía todo había terminado. Me encantan estos momentos que quedarán en sus memorias para toda la vida y estoy feliz de poder acompañar a Andrea en cada una de estas actividades.
