Happy week mommies and daddies who give life and are part of this magnificent community 🥰 as it is @Motherhood 👨👩👧. As always, I hope you are all well and that your children are in excellent health in every way ❤️.
Since some time ago I have seen videos on social networks about a method of teaching children called "Montessori Method" and then I got curious and searched a little on the subject. It is about helping children to work on fine motor skills, develop their ability in the process of reading and writing, among other aspects.
In other words, "The Montessori method is an educational model devised by the Italian educator and physician Maria Montessori, developed in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The basic purpose of this method is to unleash the potential of each child for self-development in a structured environment. The method was born from the idea of helping the child to obtain a holistic development, to achieve a maximum degree in their intellectual, physical and spiritual capabilities." What I liked the most about this, is that you can do the activities with the things we have at home. In our case, I started by giving my daughter two simple activities. In the first one I took two containers, one with water and one empty, with a sponge she had to pass the water from one container to the other, from left to right to work a lot on the reading and writing process and her fine motor skills. I applied some paint to the containers to make it more fun for her and she did it faster than I thought. Even so, I made her repeat it two more times and she was happy, since she loves to play with water 😅..
Another activity we did was to string rings on sticks, but since he didn't have sticks or rings, I put some plasticine balls to hold some long spaghetti 🤭 and instead of rings I used some rubber bands/tails. The idea of this is to thread the rings on each spaghetti and thus work on his concentration and ability to thread. As the tails were of different colors, I also took the opportunity to string the tails by color on each spaghetti. But he soon got bored, as the "sticks" were too long and he didn't want to string any more "rings" 😅.
The activities seemed to me to be an excellent way to distract the little ones and take them away from the screens and those daily games that sometimes bore them and then they don't know what to do. They are also activities that will help them to develop their motor functions and concentration.
I will keep looking for other activities according to the age of my little girl to share with you how she is doing, since it is good to mention that these activities can be found for children of all ages, even for babies.
I hope you find this useful and that you also look for it and do it with your little ones.
Un fuerte abrazo a todos e infinitas bendiciones ✨🫂
