Hoy quiero plantear un tema que vemos habitualmente en las aulas, y es el trato del profesor a los alumnos con algún tipo de discapacidad motriz. Lo primero que todo docente debe asumir ante un caso de discapacidad motora presente en alguno de sus estudiantes, es que es un caso único, y como tal debe ser considerado, adaptando todo el trabajo que deba preparar ajustado a las necesidades específicas de ese estudiante.
Today I want to raise an issue that we usually see in the classroom, and that is the teacher's treatment of students with some type of motor disability. The first thing that every teacher must assume before a case of motor disability present in any of his students, is that it is a unique case, and as such must be considered, adapting all the work to be prepared adjusted to the specific needs of that student.

El docente debe tomar en cuenta en todo momento, las características sociofamiliares, personales, y la labor educativa que hasta el momento se hayan aplicado en él, además de visualizar las posibles metodologías que podrían funcionar en cada caso.
The teacher must take into account at all times, the socio-familial and personal characteristics, and the educational work that has been applied to him/her so far, in addition to visualizing the possible methodologies that could work in each case.
Un docente debe observar en el estudiante aspectos tales cómo:
¿desde que momento padece su dificultad?,la visibilidad del trastorno y la gravedad del mismo.
A teacher should observe in the student aspects such as:
From what moment does he/she suffer from his/her difficulty, the visibility of the disorder and the severity of the disorder.
Conociendo diferentes aspectos, el docente debe ante nada enfocarse en uno de los principales objetivos, y es trabajar los objetivos en base al logro de la independencia de forma funcional del estudiante.
Knowing different aspects, the teacher must first of all focus on one of the main objectives, and that is to work the objectives based on the achievement of the student's functional independence.
Debe además trabajar sus capacidades de lenguaje, de comunicación y su forma de socializar,y por supuesto procurar su conocimiento académico, adaptando las formas de trabajo facilitando su aprendizaje en caso de ser necesario, todo estó dependerá de las dificualtades que presente o no el estudiante.
It should also work on their language and communication skills and their way of socializing, and, of course, try to improve their academic knowledge, adapting the ways of working and facilitating their learning if necessary, all of which will depend on the difficulties that the student may or may not present.
Es importante destacar que en el área deportiva o de educación física, los docentes deben informarse acerca de la condición del estudiante y de las posibles actividades terapéuticas o deportivas que pueda desarrollar en beneficio de la evolución del niño en sus aspectos, físicos, cognitivos y socioafectivos. Los docentes de estas áreas deben vinvularse de la misma forma que el docente de aula, adaptando su forma de trabajo a las necesidades del estudiante.
It is important to emphasize that in the sports or physical education area, teachers should be informed about the student's condition and the possible therapeutic or sports activities that can be developed to benefit the child's physical, cognitive and socio-affective evolution. The teachers of these areas should be linked in the same way as the classroom teacher, adapting their way of working to the student's needs.

Cabe recordar que aspectos como el tengo sed, permiso para ir al baño, y tengo hambre, son necesidades que se acentúan o no en algunos niños con ciertas dificultades, y ante esto el docente debe tomar previsiones y ser precavido y cuidadoso, debe informarse con los padres las distintas alteraciones que pudiera presentar el estudiante a raíz de sus discapacidad.
It should be remembered that aspects such as I am thirsty, permission to go to the bathroom, and I am hungry, are needs that may or may not be accentuated in some children with certain difficulties, and the teacher should take precautions and be cautious and careful, and should inform the parents of the different alterations that the student may present as a result of his or her disability.
Otro de los aspectos importantes que el docente debe afrontar es la curiosidad innata en los niños, y sobre todo al ver a algún compañero con aspecto distinto, o con prótesis, o dispositivos desconocidos para ellos, en estos casos hay que responder ante las preguntas de una forma sincera y por supuesto con mucha naturalidad, tratando que la misma sea comprensible para los niños, incluso tomar sus preguntas como motivo para educarlos ante estas situaciones, se les sencibilice y puedan tomar conciencia con respeto hacia su compañero, no con lástima. De esta forma estariamos educando a individuos capaces de entender situaciones ajenas a las suyas e incluso procurar que sean colaborativos y participativos en el tratamiento y progreso de su compañero. Esto ayudaría en la integración socioafectiva del estudiante y de sus nuevos compañeros.
Another important aspect that the teacher must face is the innate curiosity in children, especially when they see a classmate with a different appearance, or with prostheses, or devices unknown to them, in these cases we must respond to the questions in a sincere way and of course very naturally, trying to make it understandable to children, even take their questions as a reason to educate them in these situations, they are sensitized and can become aware with respect for their partner, not with pity. In this way we would be educating individuals capable of understanding situations other than their own and even try to make them collaborative and participatory in the treatment and progress of their partner. This would help in the socio-affective integration of the student and his new classmates.
Tener uno o más estudiantes con discapacidades motoras obliga a una institución y a sus docentes ha hacer campañas de concientización en cuanto a la conducta general por áreas de tráfico común. Aunque yo soy de las que piensa que esto de formar conciencia en la forma de conducirnos debería ser una acción general y constante en cualquier hogar e institución educativa. Con interés y dedicación, todo se puede.
Having one or more students with motor disabilities forces an institution and its teachers to make awareness campaigns regarding general behavior in common traffic areas. Although I am one of those who think that this awareness in the way we drive should be a general and constant action in any home and educational institution. With interest and dedication, anything is possible.

Es importante destacar que acá la institución educativa debe también tomar conciencia con respecto a las áreas de tránsito de los niños, y las posibles adaptaciones ambientales que contribuyan a que niños con discapacidades motoras puedan transitar de forma segura por las áreas escolares. Esto incluye áreas del comedor, cantina y los baños, incluso las puertas de los salones de clases y salidas de emergencia. En todo caso son aspectos que también tendrían que tomar en cuenta los padres antes de inscribir a su representado en cualquier institución educativa.
It is important to note that here the educational institution must also be aware of the transit areas for children, and possible environmental adaptations that contribute to the safe transit of children with motor disabilities through school areas. This includes the dining room, canteen and restroom areas, including classroom doors and emergency exits. In any case, these are aspects that parents should also take into account before enrolling their child in any educational institution.
