Greetings my beautiful mothers, am always happy to share my story in this community.
Motherhood is a privilege for me and am grateful to God for being a mother. It was a huge celebration in my church and most of the mothers participated in one act to remind the congregation of the importance of motherhood.in everything they do. from the drama, singing dancing, prayers, and preaching. with the women in charge, Sunday service was colorful.
The topic for the mothers Day celebration was CHILD OF DESTINY, we have all been created to achieve great destiny on earth, and for us to be a part of achieving our great destiny,
- We need to study the word of God as Christians
- We need to Check the friends and company we keep
- We need to be guided by the words we speak, she made us understand that LIFE BECOMES COLOURFUL WHEN YOU KNOW WHERE YOU ARE GOING
Also, she talked about how to be guided - Have a possibility mindset
- Always make yourself happy
- Take a bold step to achieve great things in life.
these words made me realize that we are all CHILDREN OF DESTINY, and we all need to work in the right part to achieve it.
SURPRISE! SURPRISE! SURPRISE!
How my friend surprised my son on Sunday 12th May 2024
My first son celebrated his 8th birthday on the 12th of May 2024. I already agreed with him no party till his 10th birthday but he wanted a party where he could share cakes and drinks with his classmates at school. A big surprise for him as my childhood friend came to my house with a cake that had a Spiderman character on it, like she knew he loved Spiderman movies. I wasn't home when she came with the cake but she sent videos and pictures of the show of love and surprise act.
The friends we keep as women and mothers matter a lot in the lives of our children. My lovely friend who knew my son loved to celebrate his birthday also sent him some cash gifts and told me to make the party happen for my son. Am so happy for the show of love to my son. Thank you my friendship.
Some pictures from the party at school. thank you Everyone for sharing this remarkable Birthday celebration with my son.
In continuation of the Mother's Day celebration, I was invited for a name-sake and gifting of a newborn. It's a celebration done by the Igbo people from Abia state in Nigeria, when a child is born, a family member or a close relative names the child after him or her and takes some responsibility for the child till they grow to when they can take care of themselves. They already inform the couple of their coming so they can prepare to entertain them. On arrival, they start with,
- opening prayer
- Breaking of cola nut
- Introduction of all the people present
- Sharing drinks and water
- Purpose of visitation and presentation of gift.
- item seven which is sharing of food and dancing.
it was a lovely time to party and learn the culture of the Abia state people in Nigeria.
I know you have learned some things from my story on my Mothering Sunday event.
All the pictures are mine.
