Hey there Big Girl,
We’ve had so many adventures since I last wrote. Two exciting trips: one was to the tropics for a whole week. You did great on the plane, and after one shaky night you settled in. We went into the pool and ocean every day, you got to have dinner with cousins every day, and everybody had nice family time in the sun.
The other trip was shorter, but it was all about celebrating you turning one year old. You saw many grandparents, the cousins again, auntie and uncle, and you got to try carrot cake. A whole year of Nug—it seems so long and short at the same time.
Your personality has really emerged. You have your habits, quirks, and routines. You know how to point out what you like and you really know how to express dislikes. We have all but stopped formula and are trying to get you to drink cow’s milk (you sometimes like it, you sometimes don’t).
Mom found out that you love baby walkers—you can walk around with one for almost an hour, non-stop. So that’s now part of the routine. You’re building up your leg muscles, getting ready to walk. You toss your balls, you toss food on the floor, you respond when we ask: “Can you say hi?” (And sometimes other words, like dada). Lately you’ve been giving us big long speeches: “bay-da-bay-ya-brra-eya-bayder-bayba…”
Right now you’re fighting through your first cold. It’s not nice, but you’re doing okay. We will probably have many more colds once you start daycare in the New Year.
What else is new? You have a new high chair you eat in, a new car seat, new books, new toys and clothes. It’s the first time you’ve really been able to experience the snow and the cold outside too (we don’t think you like the cold).
Christmas is soon here. We celebrated with you last year when you were still very small and didn’t move around much. This Christmas will be the first one when you will really see everything. I can’t wait!
Love,
Dad
