The Roast Chicken
"The Woolworths roast chicken that crossed the road" and then ran away… I think? Or maybe it was left on the till after I paid for it, or maybe it was forgotten in the trolley on the way to the car, or maybe it was placed on top of the roof of the car before I drove off…? I honestly can’t remember, and worse, I’m now embarrassed to go back to the shop and find out hours later!
I’ll place the blame squarely on my changed “mom brain”… Recent studies have now shown that once a person goes through pregnancy, they go through a similar change in their brain to when they went through puberty.
Dr Alexandra Sacks talks about this change in her Ted Talk and on her Instagram. Please check out the 6-minute video to hear her explain:

And so, just learning about “matrescence”, and the resulting changes in my brain and body, has made becoming a mother a lot easier… especially when I do bizarre things like buy a roast chicken... and then somehow lose it!
