One thing I don't like experiencing as a mom is breaking down due to stress, but then, stress seems unavoidable in today's world. I have experienced this in the past, and as I lay on the hospital bed taking drips and other treatments, I felt that no one can take care of my home just like me. I was so restless and couldn't stop calling home at intervals to direct them on what to do and see that things were working out properly.
It took a longer time for me to recover because my mind, even at the hospital bed, wasn't relaxed enough to allow the medication to work. It was an unpleasant experience that taught me some life lessons, and today, I will share with you my number one stress reliever and more.
Today's world is indeed so busy, with deadlines to meet, family responsibilities, and way too much to do in too little time! All the efforts are to make ends meet, which is fine, but I wouldn't overlook the fact that most times, we neglect our health and keep pursuing our dreams for a better tomorrow.
As a mom who is also working online and a bit offline, it can be overwhelming meeting up with my responsibilities to my children, to my husband, to relatives, and to myself. Sometimes, I don't take a pause, and thus I break down and am unable to do a thing. However, I have come to realize that it's better to take things one step at a time, achieving those tasks gradually rather than breaking down and achieving nothing for the time being that my body system is overly helpless.
Having said that, my top stress reliever is music. In those moments I am overly stressed, I take a pause from so many mom responsibilities and begin to feed my spirit with uplifting songs and stick with the tracks that calm my mind and give me clarity. This magically gives me inner peace, especially in my overwhelming state. I see this stress reliever as a therapy and a good tactic in resetting my emotions and recharging my energy.
Aside from that, it also distracts me from stress, but remember that, most importantly, I take a pause and observe this stress reliever for a better living.
I think everyone needs stress relievers in our busy world, and they could be different things from each other, maybe journaling, working out, or even spending some time in nature.
It's about finding what brings joy to your soul and giving you the needed rest within.
Let me leave you with the same question. What’s your go-to stress reliever as a mom? Feel free to share with me.
