Hello lovely Hivers, feels great to always be here. Anyways, today I want to encourage expectant mothers to help give their Babies a healthy life and for mother and child to come out safely.
ROAD TO BECOMING A MUM
We all know that after marriage, your journey to becoming a parent begins, meaning that your activity changes,for example, you no longer cook for yourself,but also for your spouse,you cook and store up food in the refrigerator,you buy things in larger quantities,you no longer have lonely nights,etc.
I told you the step(s) we took before conception, you can check out my page for more of those tips. Oh well, for those of you who missed my previous article,I will reiterate it here again.
My wife and I treated malaria first of all,dewormed ourselves,then we started taking folic acid daily for two months, we were also consuming lots of fruits daily to boost our immune system.
After that,my wife conceived,later stages of her conception showed changes in her body, both internally and externally, hormones began to act up as her body was gradually adjusting to each month that goes by.
In her second trimester, she vomits as soon as she eats something, everything including perfumes, air freshener, bathing soap, etc started irritating her.
As we progressed into the third trimester, she started spitting,that one spoilt her mood daily because she never liked it and prayed that it shouldn't be part of her side effects,but unfortunately it came,after about two to three weeks,the spitting subsided.
But in all these months and moments,we were never joking with our routine drugs.
ROUTINE DRUGS
What's a Routine drug? Routine drugs are drugs given to pregnant women during antennal and postnatal periods, these drugs comprises of Folic acid, multivitamin drugs, Vitamin C, Calcium which is given from 36weeks,etc.
These drugs are supposed to be ingested daily in the morning, noon and night.Folic acid is taken ones daily. These drugs go a long way to support the woman and her foetus as it grows.
Routine drugs are mostly free in most hospitals and are being given to pregnant women during their antenatal classes and there's this particular drug which is the malaria drug that they are not permitted to take home,you have to take it in front of the pharmacist, swallow it and open your mouth for confirmation that you have swallowed it.... Lol.
You needed to have seen my wife's face on that occasion.
I keep wondering why pregnant women hate drugs and yet want to deliver healthy babies,it amazes me.
ANTENATAL CLASSES
Antenatal classes are times when you sit and take lectures on how to take care of yourself and your unborn child,what to eat, exercises to do,how to bend over,fruits to eat,myths not to believe,how to know when Labor occurs,signs and symptoms of Labor, things to observe,etc.We still attend postnatal classes during her immunization as you can see the picture above.
It's an interesting class, well how do I know all these?
I go to every antenatal class with my wife as early as 6am so we can get a seat before the 7o'clock lecture commences.
I know alot of men don't accompany their wife's due to the nature of their jobs,etc,but if you have the time,avail yourself that time to learn alot of things you never knew and it will also help you assist your wife at home on how to handle your little one.
JOY OF MOTHERHOOD
You begin to smile from chin to chin when you eventually see your Baby,so cute, innocent and fragile, looking at everything as though they see everything.
You begin to take pictures,call family,relations, friends and colleagues about the good News.
This is because your little one came out alive, healthy and sound,this is part of what routine drugs brings to you freely,only if you where consistent with taking the drugs.
Advantages of the routine drugs is that it helps build your immunity as well as the baby's. It helps destroy every trace of jaundice in newborns,,etc.
