It has been more than a month since Dyn stopped watching YouTube videos and we have become more hands-on with her growth. I can say that the experience gave us a wonderful insight into how screen time affects our little one.

Earlier this morning, since I finished work early, April and I talked about having a walk to get some breakfast. DynDyn has been more talkative these days, thus we know what she wants. There are some words that we cannot understand still, but we are deciphering them from time to time.

A few words she is using that we understood are:

Kakin

The word kakin means to eat. We use the word kakain in our household as a sign that everything is prepared and we are ready to eat. Most of the time when we are eating DynDyn will say these words meaning that she is hungry and needs to eat already. Not until you give her food, she will not stop saying those words.

Witlan

Recently she captured this phrase from us. witlan is translated to wait lang or in English Please wait. I remember leaving Dyn in the room for a while and told her wait lang as I was going to pick something outside. She's crying when she mentioned those words as she tries to appeal not to leave her.

Yakuntit

This is an English word for brush your teeth. It happens each time she takes a bath. April give her a toothbrush with sweet-flavored toothpaste (can be swallowed). The origin of this phrase was from the song from Mother Goose Club Brush your teeth.

Ay

So this word is literal to the Tagalog word Ay not sure if we have some English counterpart on that. She usually says these words to express disappointment and if she did something wrong, like throwing her toys outside the crib etc.

Aside from being more talkative to us, Dyn has been more expressive to other people outside our household. She's not getting the remark from other people she is snobbish as back as we always get those words each time we go out.

While we are on our way home, tatay saw us and she requested to carry Dyn and have her ride his horse. They are doing it from time to time so I don't have such worry, but I asked not to this time as Dyn had some poo in her diapers. (This is also why we try to walk faster with her bike.

Tatay said that it is okay, so we let them bond until we reach the gate. Dyn is happy and always saying the words Hagi which translates to Happy. You can also see those smiles already at both of them.

Walking around is fun and trying to learn more about how our child communicates is even more exciting. Lately, I find joy in watching her interact with me as back then it was just us trying to say words to her with no feedback.

Being a parent is a hard job, especially for new ones that don't have any helper or someone that can look after their child so I can say that we need to be more intentional to our little ones so that we can impart more in their lives.
