How far would you go, chasing your dreams? Will you give up when the going gets tough or will you keep pushing?? .... whatever the case may be Zootopia answered with style.
Zootopia is a Disney animated film, about a rabbit who has a big dream of being the first rabbit to join the police force in a world where animals, both prey and predators live together in peace and harmony. And although her journey to realizing her dream challenge her every physical nature, she succeeded in the end.
But as soon as she's assigned a spot in the police force things go extremely wrong in the city of Zootopia, as animals, mostly predators begin to go missing without a clue to where or how to find them.
To prove to the Chief of police and everyone watching that she's not just a tiny rabbit, she puts her job on the line in hopes that before the end of 48hours she would have found the culprit and secured her title as an officer of the law.
The movie's plot is a simple one as it centers on the quest of Bonnie Hoops "becoming a police officer", which eventually shifts to her wanting to be acknowledged as one.
The overall idea of the movie is to never give up, on whatever we believe in. Because it's only by challenging our obstacles that we can achieve our dream.
The plot
The movie starts by introducing us to a young Bonnie Hopps who is starring in a stage play about what her friends and her would love to be in the future. She confidently proclaims that she would love to be a police officer in the future. But the faces of the audience and her parents sitting and recording the whole event, tell the tale of an unachievable reality.
After the play, her parents try to convince her that being in the police force is not meant for rabbits, they give her the option of selling carrots, But she cheerfully received their idea as a comment and continued to chase her dream.
Years later she enrolled In the police academy, where she trained with the other students. At first, she found it very difficult to fit into the heavy training that was built for people ten times her size.
But after many failures, she put in more effort. Day and night she trained herself to master every single thing that was taught. Until it became a part of her. And in the end, she graduated as the overall best from the academy.
She is then deployed to a police unit somewhere In the city of Zootopia. On her arrival, she finds it a little bit difficult to settle in as a cop. The chief commander of the police unit(a bull) refuses to see her as a right fit for the police force.
So the chief commander assigns her the duty of a meter maid, with the major function of issuing a parking ticket.
She hates the job but challenges herself to excel in the job.
She performs extremely well until one day, she found herself in front of a store that just got robbed. Seeing it as an opportunity to become acknowledged as a real cop. She chased down the criminal and apprehended him.
But her action forced the chief to fire her, until by a crazy twist of fate a female otter interrupted their conversations with tears in her eye, pleading for the chief to do something about her missing husband who is also an otter.
The chief tries to calm her down, telling her that his best men are on the case but she didn't seem to listen until when by an irrational burst of courage, Bonnie, promised the otter that she would help her find her husband.
This of cause made the chief mad, but before he could force Bonnie to renounce her promise to the otter, the vice mayor(a sheep) arrives and hears of the good news. She then congratulates Bonnie and the chief for the bold step before leaving.
So, the chief now being forced to allow Bonnie back into the police force then offers her a deal, stating that if she fails to catch the culprits within 48hours she would be fired.
She agrees to it, but to succeed, she employs the help of a sly fox. And they adventure together, picking up new evidence and clues as they go.
Though this movie is an animated feature. It carries a powerful script. Passing a message to never give up in a clear, colorful, and animated presentation.
Apart from having a great storyline, the movie can also boast about its perfectly animated characters along with incredible voice actors of which my favorite is ALEXANDER FORTIN, who voiced the sly fox.
I've never truly cared about musical numbers, until this movie. Its soundtrack, "try everything", is a song I won't be forgetting in a hurry.
Finally,
In life, nothing is ever fully achieved without an act of determination and courage, and Zootopia spelled it out in beautiful colors, which didn't create much room for errors.
Just a screen of smooth entertainment, warm smiles with cheerful laughs.
It's perfect for everyone, especially when you're deep in self-doubt. This movie is amazing and I strongly recommend it.
