Hi everyone, just watched the movie Afraid from 2024. Came across it by chance and reminds me of Subservience I posted about a week ago. This movie is directed by S.K. Dale and is a horror thriller that explores the dangers of AI.😃
We follow Curtis, played by John Cho, and his family who are going to test a new home robot called AIA. At first this seems like the world's best invention, but eventually you find out that it has a dark side. John Cho delivers a good performance and the film has some cool ideas about AI's impact on our lives. Visually, the film is good and with nice aesthetics, but the script can seem a little too flat with clichés and predictable twists. I liked it as Im a fan of technology, AI and the future impact. It's not a strong 7, so I give it a strong 6.
