WAS 'MADAME WEB' REALLY THAT HORRIBLE?

It started from a clip on instagram, that part where Dakota Johnson was in that room for a baby shower ceremony and she sort of saw the future and experienced it playing out afterwards. I was curious about the entire story line and I saved the clip so I can watch it later when I am able to. I think I checked on netflix at the time but it wasn't there, so I just postponed it to whenever. Well, I felt like watching a movie two days ago, I was ready to settle for anyone so I just entered Netflix Application on my laptop to browse through and see any movie that would catch my attention.

Immediately I entered the app, the first movie I saw was Madame Web with a tag of 'recently added' attached to it, I was very thrilled to see it. Somehow, I didn't even check online rating as I would normally do but I had come accross some debates about the movie, which I rarely pay attention to as I couldn't actually relate. Well, I decided to see to movie and to be honest, I enjoyed it. Not that it doesn't have glaring flaws but at the same time, it was very interesting, relaxing and dramatic. I checked the online reviews after seeing the movie and I couldn't understand what the entire hate was for.

I kinda get it though, the storyline wasn't so strong and if I am going to be fully honest, the story kind of seemed rushed. I think the budget for the movie also freaked people out, they expected so much more, I guess. Well, the villian wasn't exactly giving all the vibes he ought to be giving and the way he talks? Nahh, didn't like it one bit. I also think he wasn't also challenging or threatening enough. Also, people thought Dakota Johnson was too chill and calm for her role but umm, I don't see a problem with that. It even makes more sense that she had to shoulder responsibilities she wasn't ready or even built for, dont you think?. Apart from all these, I didn't even see this movie as a 'superhero' kinda movie until I was seeing reviews online bashing as the 'worst superhero movie' they had ever seen. Sorry, it was a superhero movie??. It was giving something else that I cannot even explain.

Well well, I am still curious about the exact roles of the three girls and how they are going to become what Dakota saw in her vision. Will there be another villian? Maybe this time, it will be better? Or maybe they will just give up on making the second part because they feel the first part has flopped greatly? Anyhoo, I hope they come up with some crazy storyline and plot twist that will replenish their online image in the second part.

Have you also seen this movie? Do you also think it was horrible or you actually enjoyed it?

Thanks for reading ❤️

It was a mess, it took me almost a whole month to finish it, and it's kinda sad... There was potential in the premise and In the idea of a Spider person as a villain.

Almost a month? Now, that is very hilarious😂 I just hope there is a lot of improvement in the second part, if there will be any.

It wasn't terrible but it was below the standards of the average Marvel movie. I thought the acting was rather wooden. Whether that was the actors' fault or the director's, I'm not sure.

Yeahh, I totally agree with you on that. For a marvel movie, there should be moreeee, for real.
