Hi guys! I hope you have a nice day today. This is my entry for the CONTEST: Which TV Shows Do You Love? where I'm going to highlight two TV series that I have liked the most and that have hooked me from beginning to end, mentioning several aspects as to what they are related, a bit of criticism and performance of the actors, scenery, among other things. So let's get started.
Hola chicos! Espero que tengan un lindo día hoy. Esta es mi entrada para el concurso CONTEST: Which TV Shows Do You Love? donde voy a destacar dos series de televisión que me han gustado más y que me han enganchado de principio a fin, mencionando varios aspectos en cuanto a lo que se relacionan, un poco de crítica y actuación de los actores, escenografía, entre otras cosas. So let's get started.
🔸VIKINGS
This is one of the TV series that has had more impact and pleasure in me, for being full of drama, action, history and lots of adventure. It was filmed in Ireland and launched at the beginning of the first quarter of 2013 ending last year with a duration of more than 7 years of production. The medium of transmission was History Channel, written and created by Michael Hirst.
It deals with the life and sagas of a farmer, Viking warrior named Ragnar Lodbrok who became the hero of Scandinavia and emphasizes his exploits, adventures and bravery. It shows what life was like at that time in the Viking village and beyond being an adventure, what I love about this series is that many things are based on real facts or at least on what is known with certainty. You have to keep in mind that there are very few concrete and accurate data of the events and stories of this people.
Ésta es una de las series de televisión que más impacto y gusto ha tenido en mi, por estar llena de drama, acción, historia y mucha aventura. Fué filmada en Irlanda y lanzada a principios del primer trimestre del año 2013 finalizando el año pasado con una duración de más de 7 años de producción. El medio de trasmisión fue History Channel, escrita y creada por Michael Hirst.
Trata de la vida y sagas de un granjero, guerrero vikingo llamado Ragnar Lodbrok quién se convirtió en el héroe de escandinava y hacen énfasis en sus hazañas, aventuras y valentía. Muestra lo que es la vida en aquella época en el pueblo vikingo y más allá de ser de aventura lo que me encanta de esta serie es que muchísimas cosas están basadas en hechos reales o al menos de lo que se conoce con certeza. Hay que tomar en cuenta que son muy pocos los datos concretos y certeros de los sucesos e historias de este pueblo.
The series in general emphasizes the Viking invasions in unknown countries and how much they enjoyed doing it, they start with their first invasion in England in the monastery of Lindisfarne after an amazing journey from Scandinavia which actually happened by the mid 700's, where they plundered and killed many monks and Saxons in exchange for land and treasures, they were warriors with a gigantic stance and their clothing and appearance was very unknown to the inhabitants of England.
Then the series develops among kings, love passions and emphasizes the family of Ragnar Lodbrok. The religion or beliefs of these Vikings is very remarkable and they perform sacrifices for these Norse gods where scenes are presented based on the closest thing to what happened in reality. This is what I love about the series that although some characters may be fictitious others really existed, not by their names and as expressed in the series but as Viking warriors who did different things.
La serie en general hace hincapié en las invasiones vikingas en países desconocidos y en lo mucho que disfrutaban hacerlo, comienzan con su primera invasión en Inglaterra en el monasterio de Lindisfarne tras una asombrosa travesía desde escandinava lo cual sucedió realmente para mediados de los años 700, dónde saquearon y asesinaron a muchos monjes y sajones a cambio de tierras y tesoros, eran guerreros con una postura gigantesca y su vestimenta y apariencia era muy desconocida para los habitantes de Inglaterra.
Luego la serie se desarrolla entre reyes, pasiones amorosas y hace énfasis en la familia de Ragnar Lodbrok. La religión o creencias de estos vikingos es muy notable y realizan sacrificios para estos dioses nórdicos dónde se presentan escenas basadas en lo más parecido a lo que sucedió en la realidad. Esto es lo que me encanta de la serie que a pesar de que algunos personajes pueden ser ficticios otros realmente existieron, no por sus nombres y tal como lo expresa la serie pero si como guerreros vikingos que hicieron diferentes cosas.
In this production they also make reference to what would be the participation of women in wars which was also very true, they were squires and very good fighters, besides being proven that the Viking people were the first not to discriminate against women in this aspect, therefore in relation to this there was a kind of equality for both genders.
The series develops without missing many important aspects in the daily life of the Viking people, showing their customs, attitudes and always putting above the drama and the unknown, this makes it very interesting and captivating. Subsequently it is also dedicated for the middle and final chapters to the life of the sons of the hero Ragnar Lodbrok and their journeys.
The ending of this series to me in particular I liked a lot, other people expected something more attractive or with more action and it is understandable but the ending was perfect because it was real, that is? It happened in reality and I loved that. I must mention aside that the performances of the main character Ragnar Lodbrok played by actor Travis Fimmel is amazing, shocking and challenging. Other of the best actors for this series in my consideration was Gustaf Skarsgård who played the Viking builder Floki and Alex Hogh Andersen, in charge of playing Ragnar Lodbrok's son, Ivar Ragnarsson.
En ésta producción también hacen referencia a lo que sería la participación de mujeres en las guerras lo cual también era muy cierto, eran escuderas y muy buenas combatientes, además de estar comprobado que el pueblo vikingo fue el primero en no discriminar a las mujeres en este aspecto, por ende en relación a esto existía un tipo de igualdad para ambos géneros.
La serie se desarrolla sin dejar pasar muchos aspectos importantes en la vida cotidiana del pueblo vikingo, mostrando sus costumbres, actitudes y siempre poniendo por encima el drama y la incógnita, esto la hace muy interesante y cautivador. Posteriormente también se dedica para los capítulos intermedios y finales a la vida de los hijos del héroe Ragnar Lodbrok y sus travesías.
El final de esta serie a mi en particular me gustó mucho, otras personas esperaban algo más atractivo o con más acción y es entendible pero el final fue perfecto porque fue real, es decir... Pasó en la realidad y eso a mí me encantó. Debo mencionar aparte que las actuaciones del protagonista Ragnar Lodbrok interpretado por el actor Travis Fimmel es asombrosa, impactante y desafiante. Otros de los mejores actores para esta serie a mi consideración fue Gustaf Skarsgård quien interpretó al vikingo constructor Floki y Alex Hogh Andersen, encargado de interpretar al hijo de Ragnar Lodbrok, Ivar Ragnarsson.

🔸GAME OF THRONES
Now I present this series quite related to the previous one but also very different. It is known to be set in many centuries ago, medieval I could say, we must know that there are other aspects such as fantasy where they do a lot of emphasis in fact, has a lot of plot, action, adventure and an excessive touch of uncertainty which leads you to be shocked and waiting for what might happen.
The series was launched in 2011 to finish its last chapter in 2019. The means of diffusion of this production was through HBO having a resounding success. Created by television producer David Benioff and American writer D. B. Weiss this series is based on the fantasy novel A Song of Ice and Fire by screenwriter and writer George R. R. Martin.
Ahora les presento ésta serie bastante relacionada con la anterior pero muy diferente también. Se conoce que está ambientada en muchos siglos atrás, medieval podría decir, debemos saber que existen otros aspectos como la fantasía donde hacen muchísimo enfasis de hecho, tiene muchísima trama, acción, aventura y un excesivo toque de incertidumbre lo cual te lleva a estar impactado y a la espera de lo que pueda suceder.
La serie fue lanzada en el año 2011 para terminar su último capítulo en el año 2019. El medio de difusión de esta producción fue a través de HBO teniendo un éxito rotundo. Creado por el productor de televisión David Benioff y por el escritor estadounidense D. B. Weiss ésta serie está basada en la novela de fantasía A Song of Ice and Fire del guionista y escritor George R. R. Martin.
The series takes place between castles, kings and queens, who maintain a constant struggle for the tenure of the entire kingdom. There are different families with power that as always happened in history and still happens to pretend to have more power and be on top of everything and everyone. The plot of the series is impressive and I would dare to say that it reaches such a point that it leaves you a little obsessive. Nothing of what happens in the series you see coming, there are many surprises and unforeseen events that makes you hooked with this production from the first chapters.
I must emphasize that the scenes are quite strong and shocking in terms of wars or sacrifices of people and on the other hand is always present nudity and sex scenes between characters where they also refer to the brothels of that time and women who did this kind of work for the princes and kings of the families, so this is a good point to take into account when watching it because it is not for the whole family.
Another important point to know is that it points a lot to fantasy as I said before. The presence of dragons, undead and giants makes the series take a particular turn but making it fit perfectly in the medieval and in that era that I particularly love. From its beginnings, as it develops in the middle chapters and until the penultimate chapter the series stays in your head and traps you in an inexplicable way.
La serie se desarrolla entre castillos, reyes y reinas, quienes mantienen una constante lucha por la tenencia del reino entero. Existen diferentes familias con poder que como siempre paso en la historia y aún sucede pretender tener más poder y estar en la cima de todo y de todos. La trama de la serie es impresionante y me atrevería a decir que llega a tal punto que te deja un poco obsesivo. Nada de lo que sucede en serie lo ves venir, existen muchas sorpresas y sucesos imprevistos que te hace engancharte con esta producción desde los primeros capítulos.
Debo destacar que las escenas son bastante fuertes e impactantes en cuanto a las guerras o sacrificios de personas y por otra parte siempre está presente el desnudo y escenas de sexo entre personajes dónde además hacen referencia a los prostíbulos de aquella época y mujeres que hacían este tipo de trabajos para los príncipes y reyes de las familias, así que este es un buen punto a tomar en cuenta a la hora de verla ya que no es para toda la familia.
Otro de los puntos importantes de conocer es que apunta mucho a la fantasía como lo dije anteriormente. La presencia de dragones, muertos vivientes y gigantes hace que la serie tome un giro particular pero haciendo que encaje perfectamente en lo medieval y en esa época que a mí en particular me encanta. Desde sus inicios, como se va desarrollando en los capítulos intermedios y hasta el penúltimo capítulo la serie se queda en tu cabeza y te atrapa de una manera inexplicable.
The series had different filming locations such as Scotland, Morocco and Ireland. The cast played an important role in terms of the interpretation of their characters that take you to the point of becoming familiar with each one of them in a personal way, some you love and others you hate, this is the result of the good acting by the actors and that is very good.
Now, as for my perception of the final season of this series I must admit that it was not what I expected even for the actors themselves. There was worldwide discontent with the way the series ended, but there were also many people and viewers who loved it and loved the whole series from beginning to end. Ultimately this is a personal criticism, what I can say is that it is a very good series to watch and enjoy, you dedicate time to it and you always want to be aware of what is going to happen. I totally recommend it for all that this production entails and its impressive development.

La serie tuvo diferentes lugares de grabación como Escocia, Marruecos e Irlanda. El reparto hizo un papel importante en cuanto a la interpretación de sus personajes que te llevan al punto de familiarizarte con cada uno de ellos de forma personal, a algunos los amas y a otros los odias, esto es el resultado de la buena actuación por parte de los actores y eso está muy bueno.
Ahora bien, en cuanto a mi percepción sobre la temporada final de esta serie debo admitir que no fue lo que me esperaba incluso ni para los propios actores. Hubo un descontento a nivel mundial por la forma en como la serie terminó sin embargo también hubo muchísimas personas y televidentes que les encantó y amaron toda la serie de principio a final. A última instancia queda de parte personal ésta crítica, lo que si puedo decir es que es una muy buena serie para ver y disfrutar, le dedicas tiempo y siempre quieres estar al tanto de lo que va a suceder. La recomiendo totalmente por todo lo que conlleva ésta producción y su impresionante desarrollo.
