My experience watching The Lion King

in #hive-1668473 days ago

Recently I was checking my streaming platforms since I am a full consumer of film productions and I have pending to see “Mufasa” but I was struck by the movie “The Lion King” made back in 2019 which I had not seen, let's see if I know the story like everyone of the Lion King, but this one that was made as computer images and photorealistic is another wave to the delivery what we saw years ago.

So I said I'm going to see it, and the truth was a pleasant experience, since I had forgotten many things, it is clear that the Lion King is from 1998 and at that time I think I did not even know how to tie my braids properly, I would be in preschool. The thing is that after so many years I decided to watch it and refresh my mind a little because I usually watch movies or series a little heavy or horror and it can sometimes stun involuntarily or we do not realize it. This movie was produced by Walt Disney Pictures, and directed by Jon Favreau, I think many of us know them for acting in Marvel movies.

Well, as I mentioned before I think many of us already know the story of this movie, to me in particular it made me go back to my childhood, something very nice and at the same time that nostalgia and innocence that I had when I saw it for the first time. The thing is that when I saw it again I felt very uncomfortable with the story and what was going to happen, even knowing that it is just a story, but the fact that there will be betrayal and death was something that of course made me uncomfortable.

I have to say that the editing work was quite realistic, it is one of the things that caught my attention, since the computer editing was so real that they seemed real, for example, the place where the lions reigned looked like the Royal Kalahari Desert. And the character of Pumba, wow, this boar looked quite realistic and we know that in real life he is not so graceful, but his spirit made him triumph because he was the same. By the way, played by the great actor Seth Rogen and I did not want to make too many spoilers, but he repeats the character in the movie 2024 “Mufasa” in fact several of the actors, such as Simba etc.. I will tell you about that movie in the future, as it was the reason for me to watch this one so I could have a refresher.

The story is based on the fact that there is a reign that is going to be inherited, we know that it is always to the older brother and if he has no children it goes to the brother, but in this case Mufasa current king had a son named Simba, who then became the heir to the throne, so his brother Scar who for some reason became very bad and I have to say that his character was created with a careless and not nice appearance, I think they wanted to reflect his hatred in that way.

Scar, the envious brother who hates King Mufasa from the shadows, makes very violent plans against Mufasa and Simba. He has no scruples and decides to associate with the Hyena herd that since historical times have always been enemies of the Lions for issues of territory and food. He takes advantage of the situation and convinces the leader of the hyena herd to work against the current reign of Mufasa and to kill his heir, his young son Simba. From this point on, there are two dangerous situations involving Simba, one of which is foiled by the king's butler, a red-billed Callao bird, who is totally loyal to the crown, which becomes vital to their future.

This second attempt was successfully executed, the inevitable happened, so King Mufasa died in a violent and sad way, seeing his son's irreparable loss. That is when the coward Scar, not satisfied with having thrown him off the cliff, blames the defenseless little Simba who is in shock and does not understand anything, manipulates him in a terrible way and tells him to flee, then tells the hyenas to end his life.

Fortunately, the little boy survives and makes great friends in the jungle, those friends that many of us know, Timon and Pumba, which by the way I loved when they sang, it was one of the things I enjoyed the most in the movie, since I knew the songs and that gave me a lot of nostalgia. Of course we know that this movie has a happy ending.

The Lion King | Official Trailer

As for criticism I have nothing bad to say, I liked how realistic this installment has been and I understand that the movie 2024 “Mufasa” is also like that, that doesn't bother me. I have nothing bad to say about this production. It is enjoyable, although I can't deny that, if you are very sensitive, you may be outraged by Scar's terrible betrayal of his own flesh and blood.

It's very entertaining, very funny, they don't sing too much, because, although I loved that they did it in this movie it's particular because it made me remember my childhood. I would give it a score of 9 /10. Greetings Dina.

I still have many things to see in Disney plus and definitely this production is one of them, I think that nostalgia wins by various reviews I've read of this story but I think as if there were no such precedent and this production would be even more than legendary because I notice the respect of people for this realistic version in the way it tells the story that many of us already know, in a world that I notice criticizes disney for almost everything ajja rescue the fact that this production, this film is evaluated with respect, only that of the reviews that I have seen already indicates me that it is a powerful film and that if it adds value to what we already saw in the comic book.

There was a debate as to whether it was necessary to remake it and with your opinion and others that I have read I think the answer is yes. In my case, I see that they are stories that need to be known by the new generations, even though the comic is there, and the boom has passed, but with this new refresh those stories come back to life, I always consider it positive, even when they are criticized a lot haha 😅

In my case, more than the visuals, what I want is to hear those voices because if there is something that remains in most cases is the tone of voice, then listening to those artists today I think is the icing on the cake for this production, I will see it in due time 🤗

Empezaré a retomar nuevamente. Saludos. 😊
