Squid Game: Season 2 - Is it as good as the first season?

About three years ago, I remember that it was in the middle of the pandemic, this series came out and made a revolution in the social networks, it became super viral, everywhere was talking about it, and people on Halloween or carnival dressed up with the theme of the series. That terrified doll that talked and those games that were to death were new things that were offered to the public. Undoubtedly the South Korean cinema is one of the best and spares no expense when it comes to making a big investment and that everything in your series or movie looks great.

But here I will not talk about the first season because I know that many of us already know it, but rather the second one that many of us were waiting for, this second part consisted of seven chapters where we saw new characters and some like the protagonist that for obvious reasons should be, and that man who recruited the next players, many know him as he is a famous actor, he had hits like Zombie Station or Train to Busan and Wonderland, I must confess that I do not consume too much Korean cinema but the little I know has enchanted me significantly.

Many of us know that this series has a lot of violence and it is not necessarily good to watch it if you are too nervous, and if you are eating I recommend you not to do it while watching it, as it is very explicit. Here we see that the main character Seong Gi-hun who survived the first game wants to fight to end this, as he was destroyed by everything he lived inside and thinking about it is not worth so much money as it is stained with many innocents and the trauma that left you all this makes it even more unworthy.

The thing is that he wants to end this whole organization, but it is not easy thing we are talking about very powerful people who apparently do this for fun and not for money, he can not do it alone so he is helped by Hwang Joon-ho who is a policeman who is looking for his brother since the first season, where the same brother shot him.

I don't want to give too many spoilers because I really liked how this second season begins to develop, there are betrayals and some characters that since you see them you already distrust. Within this organization there is a kind of mafia or organ trafficking, something we already saw a little in the first season, but here in this one it goes a little deeper so it gives an additional plus to the series.

There are not too many things that I could criticize because it is normal that some decisions become a little predictable, since if we come from watching the first season we know what it is about, but there are certainly things that take you by surprise and that's the great thing about this series. We see up close how human beings lose their sanity in dangerous situations and do anything to make money and survive.

It is a series that is not too suitable for children, there is too much blood and violence, it can be seen in family with adults, I personally liked it and although I do not see that there is as much euphoria as in the first one I feel that the public has liked it. This season left me waiting for more but a third one is coming in 2025 so it will take time and patience to see how it all ends, my score is 8/10.
