El día de hoy les compartiré mi reseña de esta película la cual tiene que ver mucho con el mes en el que estamos que es el mes del orgullo LGBTQ+ y sobre un tema muy importante no solo para personas de la comunidad sino para todo el mundo como lo es el tema de VIH, en esta película biográfica podremos conocer más sobre la vida de Ron Woodroof quien fue un personaje muy importante en la fundación de el "Dallas Buyers Club" el cual se encargó de la entrega de medicamentos para la enfermedad a pacientes padecientes del VIH/SIDA en Texas luego de haber sido diagnosticado con el mismo, fue un activista que ayudo a prolongar la vida de muchos pacientes y a su vez peleó con la FDA para evitar que continuarán administrando más medicamentos que eran altamente tóxicos en estos pacientes en hospitales. Hablemos un poco sobre la trama, la película nos presenta a nuestro protagonista un cowboy mujeriego de de Dallas en el año 1985 quien luego de presentar problemas de salud y terminar en el hospital se le es diagnosticado VIH y se le informa que le quedan 30 días de vida. A pesar de que luego de ser diagnosticado éste se niega a aceptarlo decide en un momento de desesperación tomar la decisión de empezar su tratamiento pero al no poder conseguirlo toma otras alternativas y se da cuenta de que existen otros medicamentos que pueden prolongar su tiempo de vida así que decide comenzar un club llamado "El club de los desahuciados" el cual tiene como objetivo suministrar una alternativa a los medicamentos tóxicos que entregan en los hospitales para el VIH, en su viaje conoce a muchas personalidades y a pesar de que las circunstancias son extremadamente duras decide continuar y pelear por las personas con esta enfermedad.

When I started watching it I had in mind that it would be a realistic film touching a strong theme that is still very present in our society today as HIV and AIDS which are still great stigmas in our society, the film shows you first hand what is the extreme isolation that society forces you to be when you suffer from it, the constant repudiation and hatred whether or not you are part of the LGBT community and the constant stigma about the contagion of this. The film shows us one of the great things that people forget when someone gets infected, which is through blood, it shows us how our protagonist was infected after having unprotected sex with a person who injected drugs and was infected by it, an important way to expose that this disease is not only transmitted between queers but regardless of your sexual orientation you can get infected if you do not protect yourself.
The story is a hard drink to take and this is what makes it more human and realistic, they show us the reality of HIV patients and how they fight not only against society but against the places that are supposed to help them with it, they fight to find alternatives to not die because they know they are on a tightrope and that any change in their health can kill them, they show the indifference of the institutions and how they even wanted to finish with Ron's club because according to them "they were not legal medicines" despite the fact that he himself had done a whole research on how those medicines he distributed could extend the life of those people.
Desde que estoy metida en el mundo del cine y las películas he visto a varios actores que son calificados como "actores de culto" lo que quiere decir que han actuado en películas en donde su presencia y trabajo actoral es tan increíble que destacan y son recordados por ello, en esta película el actor Matthew McConaughey es uno de los actores a los que le pone este apodo y aunque al principio no estaba muy segura de si la película era ficticia o era real luego, al investigar más sobre ella, me di cuenta de que era una historia real, una historia llena de valentía y fortaleza y sobretodo mucha mucha esperanza, por ello decidí verla. Al comenzar a verla tenía en mente que sería una película realista tocando un tema fuerte y que aún está muy presente en nuestra sociedad actual como lo es el VIH y el SIDA los cuales siguen siendo grandes estigmas dentro de nuestra sociedad, la película te muestra de primera mano lo que es el aislamiento extremo al que la sociedad te obliga a estar cuando padeces de ella, el constante repudio y odio seas o no parte de la comunidad LGBT y el constante estigma sobre el contagio de este. La película nos muestra una de las grandes cosas que las personas olvidan cuando alguien se contagia que es a través de la sangre, en ella nos muestran como nuestro protagonista se contagio luego de tener relaciones sin protección con una persona que se inyectaba drogas y que estaba contagiada por ello mismo, una forma importante de exponer que está enfermedad no solo se transmite entre las personas queers sino que sin importar tu orientación sexual puede que te contagies si no te proteges.
La historia es un trago duro de tomar y esto es lo que la hace más humana y realista, nos muestran la realidad de los pacientes de VIH y como luchan no solo contra la sociedad sino contra los sitios que se supone que deben ayudarlos con ello, luchan por buscar alternativas para no morir porque saben que están en una cuerda floja y que cualquier cambio en su salud puede matarlos, muestran la indiferencia de las instituciones y como incluso querían acabar con el club de Ron por el hecho de que según ellos "no eran medicamentos legales" a pesar de ver que el mismo había hecho toda una investigación sobre como aquellos medicamentos que distribuía podía alargar la vida de aquellas personas.

Es una película que toca un tema delicado y lo hace de una manera magnífica, busca mostrar la realidad y no solo desde un punto de vista externo sino a traves de nuestro protagonista mostrándonos como sufre buscando opciones, mostrándonos su dolor y como en un punto considera el suicidio para acabar con todo de una manera rápida. Matthew McConaughey conto que escogió el papel ya que no solo al estar familiarizado con el lugar en el cual está basado (Dallas) sino que al ver como los escritores construyeron al personaje de Ron mostrando todas y cada una de sus facetas, sus pensamientos y todo su trabajo en el club de los desahuciados pudo ver que lo hicieron mostrando su lado mas humano, buscaron representarlo de la mejor forma posible y lo lograron mostrando sus habilidades y su perseverancia en todo su viaje y es allí donde el decidió interpretarlo tomando muy en serio su papel logro bajar más de 20 kilos en el proceso, con el debido acompañamiento de nutricionistas, y así fue como nos dió una actuación excepcional, construyó y representó todo aquello por lo que Ron Woodroof luchó, mostrando todas sus facetas y de verdad cuando yo lo ví quedé completamente conmovida por el compromiso que tuvo para representar aquella historia tan importante y conmovedora.
A su vez también debo destacar la actuación de Jared Leto quien nos entregó igualmente todo de si para traernos a la entrañable Royan quien lucho hasta el final para poder ayudar a todos aquellos que también estaban sufriendo por lo mismo, sin dejar de lado su carismática personalidad, es un personaje que sin duda no olvidaré nunca.

Little was known about the work of the electrician who tries on the anti-hero suit and it fits him perfectly, just as McConaughey played him in the film: homophobic, bigoted and racist, though with a gradual transformation as he empathized with trans and gay women who had also contracted the disease. Ron Woodroof's life will always be remembered for the way in which he experimented with his own body to find alternatives, since the drugs "approved" by the FDA damaged his body considerably, he worked and traveled to get these drugs that worked as an alternative to give more time to live to those who frequented his club and at the same time he struggled internally with the disease and thanks to him and the help of many people who were involved in the club and his work he was able to help many people belonging to the community LGBT and sex workers from the lowest places in the United States. Despite literally fighting with the authorities he was able to achieve his goal, helped many people to have a better life with the disease and became a being to admire. Me encantó esta película y creo que es una película que muchas personas deberían ver ya que tiene información valiosa sobre la enfermedad, muestran lo crueles que pueden ser las personas con los que sufren de ella y con las personas de la comunidad LGBT, es inspiradora y ciertamente deja un gran mensaje de apoyo a ser más humanos. Poco se conocía del trabajo del electricista que se prueba el traje de antihéroe y le calza a la perfección, tal como lo interpretó McConaughey en el film: homofóbico, intolerante y racista, aunque con una transformación paulatina a medida que empatizaba con mujeres trans y homosexuales que también habían contraído la enfermedad. La vida de Ron Woodroof será siempre recordada por la forma en la que el mismo experimento con su cuerpo para conseguir alternativas ya que los medicamentos "aprobados" por la FDA dañaban considerablemente su organismo, trabajó y viajó para poder conseguir estos medicamentos que funcionaban como alternativa para darles más tiempo de vida a los que frecuentaban su club y a su vez luchaba internamente con la enfermedad y gracias a el y a la ayuda de muchas personas que estuvieron involucradas en el club y en su trabajo pudo ayudar a muchas personas pertenecientes a la comunidad LGBT y trabajadoras sexuales de los lugares más bajos de estados unidos. A pesar de literalmente estar peleando con las autoridades pudo lograr su objetivo, ayudó a muchísimas personas a tener una mejor vida con la enfermedad y se convirtió en un ser para admirar. Es una película que te permite mirar el otro lado de la moneda, te muestra lo real y te hace empatizar con los personajes y no solo con ellos sino con las personas reales que actualmente siguen luchando para que se descubra una cura a esta enfermedad que no discrimina.
