Yesterday I decided to watch another action movie, not judging from the rating which was relatively low (5.3/10)
Story
Dave (David Oyelowo) and Emma (Kaley Cuoco) have the seemingly perfect life - two kids, suburban house, good jobs - but they just want a little more fun. In fact, they need it. Looking to shake things up, they decide to ROLE PLAY. The rules are simple - they meet as strangers for one night to rekindle their relationship. While waiting for her 'stranger' at a hotel bar in New York, Emma attracts the attention of a mysterious older man (Bill Nighy), who stays to buy her and Dave drinks long into the night. 24 hours later, the man is found dead and a murder investigation is launched. Emma and Dave's role play game now becomes a case of mistaken identity that leads to Emma disappearing and Dave being questioned by the police for murder. As disguises unravel, Dave uncovers the unbelievable truth: his wife Emma is a professional assassin who has been living a double life for years,

The Movie Name: Role Play (2023)
Director: Thomas Vincent
Writer:Seth W. Owen
Stars: Kaley CuocoDavid OyelowoBill Nighy
Genre: Action
I did not care so much that I did not know the actors.
I usually understand in the first minutes if I will see the movie or not.
My honest review
The film's genre is action. Having said that, do not expect to see impressible gunshots, cars flying in the air and such. There are some simple action scenes but not unrealistic effects.
I would characterize the film more as mystery, light thriller, with a few comic elements
The movie starts interestingly, and is keeping the interest / suspense of the viewer. Especially if you have not read the story (like me when I saw it), the interest is sparkled often in the first 3 quarters of the movie.
I saw some small flaws in the scenario, but not so important to destroy my movie experience.
The movie flows well, there are a few plot twists that may be unexpected but to me, I started loosing interest after the first hour of the movie.
The duration is 1h 40 min, and after appx 1 hour I noticed that the movie was lagging. There were scenes that could last a couple of minutes, but lasted at least double the time (I could handle).
The actors played well, and I had fun seeing this movie.
Having said the above, I would say that if a few things were different, the movie would be well worth a 6.5/10.
My rating now is 6/10 and I suggest that you watch it, but with the right expectations. Nice actors, entertaining movie with a few plot twists. Mystery and agony in certain points, but no fancy flying cars and bullets that find their ways between bodies and walls :)
