WeCrashed is a mini series that is aired exclusively on Apple TV

I am usually not very fond of series, because I lose interest or I do not have enough time to spend in front of a TV. But this one was short and interesting enough, and it took me 3 nights to watch all of its 8 episodes.

What sparked my interest, were a few snippets that I saw on TikTok. There I saw Anne Hathaway and Jared Leto playing in a character style I was not used of seeing them in. So, curiosity knocked on my door and I immediately searched it online.

I was also happy to see that this series was based on real events. This meant that I could find out more information about this story and the main characters.

About WeCrashed
This miniseries was inspired by the rise and fall of WeWork and its founder, Adam Neumann. It is based on the podcast WeCrashed: The Rise and Fall of WeWork.

The series shows the story of WeWork start up, through the main character who is the founder Jared Leto. He and Anne Hathaway have a great performance and you see them in a very different style than you may be used to them.

In case Jared Leto seems familiar but you do not know where from, remember Requieam for a dream, Fight Club movies and many many more

In the series you follow all the different levels and stages of the start up and its founders. Ambition, Idealism, Money, Rise, High-Stake decisions, and ultimately Consequences.

At some points (mostly in the first episodes) I found the show to be more dramatic than expected.

The series has also many smart moments, especially during its exploration of the cult-like following that Adam & Rebekah inspired.

The last episodes are very interesting, as they show tension and depth. If you do not know the story, the plot and some twists are very unexpected.

If you are unfamiliar with the WeWork story, I recommend watching the series first and then reading about the real-life events. (unless you enjoy spoilers)

The fact that it was only eight episodes (almost 1 hour each) made it easier to watch and enjoy. The pacing felt right and it left a curiosity to dive deeper into the real story behind it :)

If you asked me to grade it, I would give it a good 7.5 out of 10

Plot: 8
Acting Performances: 8.5
Pacing: 7.5
Dialogue: 7
Ending: 7.5
