Analizar una película que está basada en un libro, sin haber leído el libro, es un análisis que se me antoja incompleto, sin embargo para esta película, no puedo esperar encontrar el libro y leerlo.
La historia versa sobre el romance que surge entre el hijo de la presidenta de los Estados Unidos y el Príncipe de Inglaterra.
Aspectos positivos
La cinta es una comedia romántica muy bien lograda, sin duda y no creo que sea spoiler decir que se trata de una cinta de romance homosexual, ese detalle aunque es importante no es en dónde la película pone el acento.
El sentimiento que despierta la película es glorioso, es inmensamente positivo, poderoso y muy motivador.
No recurre al elemento sexual para captar la atención. El romanticismo es más que suficiente para lograr el interés en el espectador, el mensaje claro es que, en la vida de los homosexuales hay cosas muchas más interesantes que el sexo (así como en la vida de todo el mundo).
La trama se despoja de varios tópicos como el revenido argumento de los cuernos o de las infidelidades, los malos entendidos o la oposición de amigos y familiares.
Tiene un muy buen guión y un excelente trabajo de edición.
Los actores y actrices son muy adecuados, los protagonistas resultan mucho más carismáticos que atractivos.
No hay chistes fáciles, ni comedia absurda. El tono de la película es ligero, muy ligero, tan agradable y educativo que la convierte en apta e ideal para toda la familia.
Yo podría definir la película como una bonita utopía, una bonita manera de normalizar las relaciones no tradicionales, un bonito consejo al mundo entero, una bondadosa mirada al futuro.
¿Vale la pena verla? definitivamente, si. Logra reconciliarte con el amor, con el compromiso sentimental y las responsabilidad afectiva. La única advertencia que se hago es no perder el foco de que se trata de una obra de ficción.
Aspectos negativos
Estados Unidos, la potencia más grande y agresiva del mundo tiene como presidente a una mujer. No es que no sea posible, pero para ello debe cambiar muchas cosas en la estructura institucional de ese país y si a eso le añadimos el hecho de que la Presidenta está relacionada con dos de las minorías más agraviadas de Norteamérica como la comunidad LGBTIQ+ y los latinos, pues se sabe entonces que la película no explora la realidad sino la utopía. En ese caso, la familia Real se muestra un tanto más realista, pero si les costó siglos aceptar divorcios, es como idílico pensar que aceptarían un príncipe homosexual.
Es impensable pensar que la presidenta maneje una campaña presidencial a su antojo, es también utópico dado a que le delegó parte de la campaña electoral de reelección al hijo. Que se haga pública una relación homosexual en un país que vetó a un presidente por ponerle los cuernos a la esposa y lo consideraban no apto para gobernar la nación, no es muy verosímil ya que esa estructura social no ha cambiado mucho. Nuevamente otra utopía.
Un romance así, para dos hombres ubicados en la cima de la cadena social, es sencillo, tienen recursos, poder y medios para ser respetados y protegidos. En la vida real los obstáculos son demasiados, son multifactoriales y en ocasiones devastadores.
El cuento es bonito. Es distópico en mi opinión, pero es una historia inspiradora, sin ningún atisbo de duda, ojalá que algún día, algo de aquello pueda hacerse realidad.

Analyzing a movie that is based on a book, without having read the book, is an analysis that seems incomplete to me, however for this movie, I can't wait to find the book and read it.
The story is about the romance between the son of the President of the United States and the Prince of England.
Positive aspects.
The film is a very well done romantic comedy, without a doubt and I don't think it is a spoiler to say that it is a homosexual romance film, that detail although it is important is not where the film puts the accent.
The feeling that the film awakens is glorious, it is immensely positive, powerful and very motivating.
It does not resort to the sexual element to capture attention. The romanticism is more than enough to get the viewer's interest, the clear message is that, in the life of homosexuals there are much more interesting things than sex (as well as in the life of everyone).
The plot is stripped of several clichés such as the tired argument of the horns or infidelities, misunderstandings or the opposition of friends and family.
It has a very good script and an excellent editing job.
The actors and actresses are very adequate, the protagonists are much more charismatic than attractive.
There are no easy jokes, no absurd comedy. The tone of the film is light, very light, so pleasant and educational that makes it suitable and ideal for the whole family.
I could define the film as a nice utopia, a nice way to normalize non-traditional relationships, a nice advice to the whole world, a kind look into the future.
Is it worth watching? Definitely, yes. It manages to reconcile you with love, with sentimental commitment and affective responsibility. The only caveat is not to lose focus of the fact that it is a work of fiction.
Negative aspects.
The United States, the largest and most aggressive power in the world has a woman as president. It is not that it is not possible, but for that to happen it must change many things in the institutional structure of that country and if we add to that the fact that the President is related to two of the most aggrieved minorities in North America such as the LGBTIQ+ community and Latinos, well then you know that the film does not explore reality but utopia. In this case, the Royal family is a bit more realistic, but if it took them centuries to accept divorces, it is idyllic to think that they would accept a homosexual prince.
It is unthinkable to think that the president would manage a presidential campaign at her whim, it is also utopian given that she delegated part of the reelection campaign to her son. That a homosexual relationship is made public in a country that vetoed a president for cheating on his wife and considered him unfit to govern the nation, is not very plausible since that social structure has not changed much. Again, another utopia.
Such a romance, for two men placed at the top of the social chain, is simple, they have resources, power and means to be respected and protected. In real life the obstacles are too many, they are multifactorial and sometimes devastating.
The story is beautiful. It is dystopian in my opinion, but it is an inspiring story, without any hint of doubt, hopefully someday, some of it can become a reality.
