Hola cinephile friends, faithful to my habit of watching a retro movie every Sunday, one of those I haven't seen since I was a child, yesterday I decided to watch Look Who's Talking Now or "Mira Quien Habla Ahora" as we call it in Latin America, a 1993 film with the wonderful performance of the stars of that time, Kirtie Alley (Molly) and John Travolta (James).

What I always loved about this saga is that it gives the viewer a different point of view, for example, in the previous two installments of this franchise, we could see how life is from the perspective of babies, the problems they face and how they perceive the world around them, but in this third and final installment we dive into the world of dogs and perceive everything from their perspective.
Lo que siempre amé de esta saga es que le da al espectador un punto de vista diferente al acostumbrado, por ejemplo, en las dos entregas anteriores de esta franquicia, pudimos ver como es la vida desde la perspectiva de los bebés, los problemas a los que se enfrentan y como van percibiendo el mundo que los rodea, pero en esta tercera y última entrega nos sumergimos en el mundo de los perros y percibimos todo desde su perspectiva.
One of the things I always enjoyed about these films was the fertilisation scene, they were quite original, funny and exciting because they showed you the moment as a great race in which the participants desperately fought for an egg in which they could spend the next nine months and thus finish a cycle. Voices have always played a very important role in these films, and these scenes were no exception to the rule as the screams of joy when the sperm found the egg caused a lot of laughter, but in this third installment this scene went further because, apart from the voices of the sperm, we could also hear the barking of dogs that indicated the type of species that was being reproduced.
Una de las cosas que siempre disfruté de estas película es la escena de la fecundación, eran bastantes originales, divertidas y emocionantes porque te mostraban el momento como una gran carrera en la que los participantes luchaban desesperadamente por un ovulo en el que pudieran pasar los próximos nueve meses y terminar así un ciclo. Las voces siempre han jugado un papel importantisimo en estas películas, y estas escenas no fueron la excepción a la regla pues los gritos de júbilo cuando el espermatozoide encontraban el ovulo causaban mucha risa, pero en esta tercera entrega esta escena fue más allá pues, aparte de las voces de los espermatozoides, también pudimos oír ladridos de perros que nos indicaban el tipo de especie que se estaba reproduciendo.
Another of the most important elements in this film is the fact that it allows us to see how the difference between social classes affects not only people, but also animals, for example, the beautiful Poodle Daphne was used to the best dog schools, to drink vitaminised water, to sleep in a special place and to have absolutely all her needs attended to, while Rocks, the mongrel dog, was used to the opposite, to sleep in the street and to fend for himself, which is why they constantly come into conflict, because he doesn't know how to behave politely and she doesn't even know how to follow her basic canine instincts.
Otro de los elementos importantísimos en esta película es el hecho de que nos permite ver como la diferencia entre las clases sociales afectan no solo a las personas, sino también a los animales, por ejemplo, la hermosa Poodle Daphne estaba acostumbrada a las las mejores escuelas caninas, a beber agua vitaminada, a dormir en un lugar especial y a que atendieran absolutamente todas sus necesidades, mientras que Rocks, el perro mestizo, estaba acostumbrado a todo lo contrario, a dormir en la calle y a valerse por sí mismo, por esa razón constantemente entran en conflicto, porque él no sabe comportarse con educación y ella ni siquiera sabe seguir sus instintos básicos caninos.
This leads to the development of these characters, which is very good. At one point Daphne needs to go to the toilet but Molly is fast asleep, so Rocks kindly offers to take her outside. Once outside, Rocks shows her how to fend for herself, including foraging for food, and to her great surprise she discovers that she enjoyed the experience, even enjoyed playing in the mud as for the first time in her life she was acting like what she was, a dog, not a person. Later Daphne felt guilty when Molly discovered the shoes she had chewed so that Rock would be blamed, and offered to teach him manners so that he would not lose his home.
Estos lleva al desarrollo de estos personajes, el cual es muy bueno. Llega un punto en el que Daphne necesita ir al baño pero Molly está profundamente dormida, por lo tanto Rocks se ofrece amablemente a llevarla afuera. Una vez estando en la calle, Rocks le muestra como valerse por si misma, incluso como buscar comida, y con gran sorpresa ella descubre que disfrutó la experiencia, incluso le agradó jugar en el barro ya que por primera vez en su vida estaba actuando como lo que era, una perra, no una persona. Posteriormente Daphne se sintió culpable cuando Molly descubrió los zapatos que ella había mordisqueado para que culparan a Rock, y se ofreció como maestra para que él aprenda modales y así no pierda su hogar.
But Rocks also discovered something new, and that is that he definitely liked living in a home and being cared for by his masters, he also realised that he should not repress his natural instincts, but that he should follow his instincts wisely. And at this point Molly also discovered the importance of having him with her family, for when they needed him most he was able to rise to the occasion and protect them.
Pero Rocks también descubre algo nuevo, y es que a él definitivamente le agradó vivir en un hogar y recibir cuidados de parte de sus amos, también se dio cuenta de que él no debía reprimir sus instintos naturales, sino que debía seguir sus instintos con prudencia. Y en este punto Molly también descubrió la importancia de tenerlo a él con su familia pues en el momento en que más lo necesitaban supo comportarse a la altura y protegerlos.
One of my favourite scenes is the dream that Molly and James share, because although it is quite absurd that both characters dream the same thing, the scene is quite funny and the dance part has that charm of the old movies of the 30s or 40s, besides, who doesn't like to see John Travolta dancing?
Una de mis escenas favoritas es la del sueño que comparten Molly y James pues aunque es bastante absurdo el hecho de que ambos personajes sueñen la misma cosa, la escena resulta bastante divertida y la parte del baile tiene ese encanto de las viejas películas de los años 30 o 40, además ¿a quien no le gusta ver bailar a Jhon Travolta?
And the last important point I would like to mention is the excellent synchronicity between the actions of the canine characters and the intonation of the voices, the highlight being the great Danny DeVito playing Rock, as he is very funny and gives him that rude and misbehaved stray dog touch.
Y el último punto importante que me gustaría mencionar es la excelente sincronía que hay entre las acciones de los personajes caninos y la entonación de las voces, siendo el más destacado el grandioso Danny DeVito interpretando a Rock, ya que es muy gracioso y le da ese toque de perro callejero, grosero y malportado.
