From a korean series lover, this recommendation had me contemplating for longer than I would before I decided to see it. It's an old movie but the recommendation source was too strong and well recommended that I couldn't hold back from getting it downloaded at least for a start.
After download was complete, pausing my current kdrama series to start this movie was another battle of it's own. I almost didn't see it but thought about how it was for me to find the movie and the data I used, kinda silly excuses but I'm glad I found them to start the movie.
Secret Superstar is a more than 2-hour Indian movie released in the year 2017. The movie was actually recommended to me so I could get introduced to the popular Indian actor and filmmaker Aamir Khan. To be honest, I didn't like him as much as I thought I would in this movie or maybe the lead character took all the love I could have shared among the characters lol.
There's no need to give the storyline as I plan to share it in a more creative way as inspired by a prompt I came across. I'll share my view on the movie and you'll also get a deeper view of what to expect in the movie that stole my heart with so many scenes.
A Creative review on the mother figure in "Secret Superstar".
She had every reason to leave her abusive husband but no reason to make her children suffer. She needed a plan, a plan that would not only set her free from her husband but also set her children free to achieve their dreams.
A mother stealing from her husband to cater for her children, not a good move but the extent of her love for her children's comfortability even in a discomfort situation.
How and when her value is felt by her eldest child is one that not many can comprehend but a lot can learn from, to value mothers no matter the little they do in helping their children achieve their dreams.
If I am to rate the mother figure in this movie, she will get a 9/10 and I'm taking the 1 rating for the words I felt heartbroken that she said to her daughter. It doesn't change the fact that she is still a mother figure to emulate regardless if it's just a movie or not.
A Creative review on the musician figure in "Secret Superstar".
Maybe it's because the movie is a bit old or that I didn't expect much from an old movie, every song sang by the lead musician in this movie was epic to the hearing that I felt like I've been missing out some old movies.
A girl with just one big dream, making the world hear her voice regardless of how she looks and if her identity would be known or not. With one major setback, she sets out to make decisions for herself and indeed, the world got to hear from her and she became a secret superstar for a while.
The turn out of event, the last scene, the epic turn of everything to me was where she calls her mother, the Superstar. The "Mother Song" was played too, I cried during that scene and I'm sure I would again if I should see it again.
The movie promotes achieving dreams, music, teenage life, marital abuse and other areas of life that would interest any family to see it. Would you see the movie if you haven't? I bet you'll find it worth your time.
