The Fallen Trilogy: Banning's Triumph

One of my favorite US actors is Gerard Butler, who has starred in many movies. My favorites are Olympus Has Fallen, London Has Fallen, and Angel Has Fallen. These political action thrillers depict events that could realistically happen in real life.

Olympus Has Fallen was released in the United States on March 22, 2013. Filming for London Has Fallen began in London on October 24, 2014. Angel Has Fallen was officially announced in October 2016.

This is how the story began in the Olympus Has Fallen. Former U.S. Army Ranger Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) is a Secret Service agent and detail leader in the Presidential Protection Division. He maintains a personal, friendly relationship with President Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart), First Lady Margaret (Ashley Judd), and their son Connor (Finley Jacobsen). During a snowy Christmas drive from Camp David, the Presidential limo transporting the First Family spins out of control on an icy bridge after a tree branch hits the leading vehicle. Banning pulls Asher from the vehicle, but the limo plummets into the frozen river, killing Margaret.

You should watch the subsequent films to judge for yourself how interested you are in the movie. I assure you that you will enjoy every one of them.

In London Has Fallen, there is a unique twist that continues the story from Olympus Has Fallen. The G8 intelligence services locate Pakistani arms trafficker and terrorist mastermind Aamir Barkawi at his compound and authorize a US Air Force drone strike during his daughter's wedding. The strike kills Barkawi's family and seemingly Barkawi himself.

Two years later, British Prime Minister James Wilson suddenly dies, prompting the G7 leaders to prepare to attend his funeral in London. Secret Service Director Lynne Jacobs assigns Agent Mike Banning to lead U.S. President Benjamin Asher's overseas security detail, even though Banning's wife Leah is due to give birth in a few weeks. The entourage arrives at Stansted Airport via Air Force One, and Banning arranges for an earlier arrival at Somerset House in London via Marine One. To better understand, watch the following movies. Angel Has Fallen was the movie I eagerly awaited in 2019, but I ended up watching it in February 2020 when it became available for free download. Even now, I've watched these three movies multiple times, and I never tire of them.

In the movie, Secret Service agent Mike Banning undergoes training at a military facility in Virginia, owned by his former Army Ranger commanding officer Wade Jennings, who is now CEO of the private military company Salient Global. Banning is recommended for the position of Secret Service Director by U.S. President Allan Trumbull, to replace retiring director David Gentry. However, Banning conceals the fact that he suffers from migraines and insomnia, and he takes painkillers to cope with chronic back pain from previous combat injuries.

In this movie, Banning is framed for disasters targeting the President. To understand the full story, watch the entire movie, which features actor Danny Huston.

The third and last film (I don't know if there will be more) I don't remember very well if I saw it, I think I did, but it is probably the one I liked the least.

The first film is very good, quite entertaining with many action scenes, a patriotic story, but of redemption although its lack of originality detracts points; it is very similar to Die Hard.

Yes, it has some resemblance to the Die Hard movie, but overall, it's really beautiful and exciting due to the modern equipment, effects, and scenarios. =)
