FULL ENGLISH VERSION
Β Greetings to the beautiful people who give life to the #MoviesAndTVShows Community. I recently watched this excellent movie again that you can find on the Netflix platform, under the name Outlaw King, which stars Chris Pine and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Both divine Pimp Daddy were carved by the Gods!
Β But what is it about this movie that makes it so great to me? Well, the truth tells the continuation of what happened after the legendary William Wallace died. Yes, this movie is pure history, and they are the second genre style that I love.
Β Besides the fact that it tells the legacy of one of my favorite characters in history as it is Wallace. If I could travel back in time and interview a historical figure, it would be this man without a doubt.
Β If you don't know the story of William Wallace, I recommend you to watch the 1995 movie called Braveheart, starring Mel Gibson. And well basically the story of the movie that I come to write today is about that character who "betrays" Wallace almost at the end, leaving him alone and at the mercy of people who captured him to bring him to justice.
Β Yes, the film of Outlaw King, tells the story of Robert The Bruce. That character in Braveheart was shown as someone doubtful and unsure of himself, who was influenced by his arrogant father.
Β In this film, we can see how Robert The Bruce is forced to follow in the footsteps of Wallace and his legacy as he sees the reaction of the Scottish people who despised the King of England and his tyranny towards the people of Scotland as he imposed extreme measures to take over these lands.
Β And it is that King Edward I is remembered as the Long Legs, he was an ambitious king and thirsty for power to rule beyond England. He even took over much of Ireland and had his sights set on monopolizing Scotland.
Β But what this King did not know was that the Scots were different and preferred to fight for their freedom than to be ruled by a tyrant like him. His rock in the shoe was the rebellious soldier of Wallace and he sang victory once he cruelly executed him in 1305 at the age of 35.
Β After this, the said King thought that Scotland already belonged to him, but showing the people what he did with his heroic soldier by distributing his body to four main parts of Britain, aroused the fury of the Scots, people who under the subtle influence of indignation and pure frustration decided to fight for their freedom and show how dissatisfied they were under the tutelage of Eduard I.
Β This king to me was a tyrant and his son was worse than him. However, as he contemplated the reaction of the Scottish people, Robert The Bruce knew he had to do what he did not do when he had to do it alongside Wallace, help free his people for good.
Β That's what the movie itself is about, how this man took courage, fought, and sought support even when he was despised by many Wallace supporters and left alive, he even had a few attempts on his life, from people who didn't want him in power either.
Β But with all that, he persisted with his ideal, persisted with his struggle, and won the trust of the Scottish people little by little and with much against him. For me to see this, to see his process of redemption, and to achieve in such a humble way his arrival to power and obtain the crown supported by a people who let him win their wounded hearts, this for me is something admirable.
Β This film is pure history, I like to see a director take the audience back to that time, always with some discrepancies (of course) but the important thing here is to show that it is worth more a strategy and a lot of patience than to be carried away by anger and thirst for power, all to conquer.
Β I have already seen this movie three times. And I find it an inspiring story, worthy of admiration, as it is full of moral influence and ideals that to this day persist in the culture of the Scottish people. The performances were incredible, for me the one who stands out the most as a supporting character is Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
Β In addition, the direction by David Mackenzie was impeccable. He knew how to achieve majestic shots with his landscapes and carried the plot excellently. For all the reasons stated in my post, I recommend watching it π―% and from me, it has its full πππππ of 5 Little Golden Stars.
