Movie Review
Mr. Queen
Korean drama - 2020
Love, Romance, Comedy, Crisis.
The movie Mr. Queen features a man named Jang who woke up from a coma to realize himself trapped in a young woman's body. He also realizes that this young woman, whose body he is trapped in, turns out to be the queen of his newly found empire of about 200 years backwards.
Jang becomes confused and frustrated as he struggles with being his real self in the shell of a beautiful queen and bride to the King.
The just recovered queen and her new behavior throws everyone into a state of confusion and serious concern as everyone begins to believe that her memories have been disorganized after her recovery from drowning in a lake, because the queen never comported herself like a queen but took every bull by the horns and acted rashly.
The movie features a well detailed scripting of how this misplacement of body and spirits began and its consequences.
There are a lot of things I really love about this movie, amongst which is when the king who was obsessed with his concubine began to grow fond of the queen whom he didn't love initially because of her clan.
The queen’s new daring and crazy attitudes coupled with her higher sense of thinking, judgments and values began to amaze the King, as he began to wonder about her personality, he saw himself growing fond of the queen, while abandoning his obsession for his royal concubine.
This movie is in episodes, the video quality is top notch. There are also lots of food delicacies and drinks in this movie. The characters interpreted their roles accurately.
I love the way swords were being swung in this movie, the soldiers, the King and the Ministers of War, fought as if it were real. The entire crew did a great job while shooting this movie and I enjoyed every bit of it.
Also I learnt that two cannot work together except they agree. The King learnt to understand his new queen and the queen began to grow fond of her husband the King. They let love and togetherness lead; and they were able to get rid of the bad eggs and put their kingdom in order.
So, husbands and wives should work together so as to achieve better goals in life.
I will say Mr. Queen has lots of actions and lessons embedded in it. I laughed, I felt love and passion and togetherness.
