I have a long time without doing anything at all, what happened is that I've been quite busy at the university, I'm already in my last year and I've had very little time. However, I have been able to watch a few movies, this time I will talk about a director who has become very well known in these times, he is Robert Eggers and today we will talk a little about his career.
Tengo mucho tiempo sin realizar nada de nada, lo que pasó es que estuve bastante ocupada por la universidad, ya estoy en mi último año y he tenido muy poco tiempo. The Witch

Lo más interesante de esta película es que el terror no vine solamente de lo externo, sino de lo interno, la familia, el enemigo no es solo la bruja, sino los propios miembros de la familia, tenemos al padre, un engreído que prefiere su orgullo que el bienestar de su familia, la madre que es interpretada por la misma actriz de Lysa Arryn en Juego de Tronos y tiene una actitud similar, Caleb que no puede controlar sus instintos carnales y medio incestuosos, los gemelos insoportables y Thomasin la cual ha cometido pecados, pero es la única que se le pide perdón a Dios, por lo que, es la más pura de la familia.

The film for me is a masterpiece and the best scene is undoubtedly played by Caleb and the story that seeks a disturbing story that remains in our minds even long after watching it, which differentiates it from other films. La película para mí es una obra maestra y la mejor escena es sin dudas interpretada por Caleb y la historia que busca una historia perturbadora que quede plasmada en nuestra mente aún tiempo después de verla, cosa que la diferencia de otras películas. Dándole mucha fama al director y la actriz Anya Taylor-Joy (siendo una de sus actrices favoritas). Además de que me gusta ver personajes cayendo en la locura.

Segunda película de Eggers, estrenada en 2019 y protagonizada por Williem Dafoe (Thomas) y Robert Pattinson (Ephraim), se trata de dos hombres fareros que fueron aislados de la sociedad para cuidar y mantener el funcionamiento un faro en una pequeña isla, uno es un hombre mayor con mucha experiencia y el otro es nuevo en este trabajo. The Lighthouse representa encontrar la luz, mientras que The Witch representa la oscuridad. Aquí tenemos personajes que ocultan muchos secretos al otro, los cuales poco a poco saldrán a la luz. I don't consider it a horror film, but a psychological drama, where we will explore the minds of the characters combined with William Shakespeare's narrative that makes it a great experience. The film did not disappoint me, it is an excellent work just like The Witch and I am already excited to talk about Eggers' next work.
No la considero como una película de terror, pero si un drama psicológico, en donde nosotros exploraremos la mente de los personajes combinada con la narrativa de William Shakespeare que lo convierte en una gran experiencia. La película no me decepcionó, es un excelente trabajo igual que The Witch y ya estoy animada por hablar del siguiente trabajo de Eggers.

The story is inspired by a medieval Scandinavian legend: Amleth, which would end up being the basis for one of William Shakespeare's most famous stories: Hamlet.

On the other hand, an important element of this whole story is destiny, and even though everything was written, it does not mean that we do not find some surprises.
Una de las cosas que más me gusta de la película es la perfecta combinación entre la realidad y la mitología. Al igual que The Lighthouse, podemos ver escenas que parecen eventos sobrenaturales, pero que en ningún momento se aclara si son reales o no, como las predicciones o los encuentros con la vidente. Por otro lado, un elemento importante de toda esta historia es el destino y a pesar de que, todo estaba escrito, no significa que no encontremos alguna sorpresa.

It is undoubtedly the most accessible film and surely most would prefer, we have a simpler story to understand, very strong action scenes, but without being excessive, but like the last three films, it is not for everyone and it is true that to understand the film 100% you must know in advance some myths, such as Odin and his mentor Mímir, the Valkyries and Valhalla, possibly there will be a couple of things that you will not understand immediately because at no time the beliefs and cultures of the time are explained.
Es sin duda la película más accesible y que de seguro la mayoría preferiría, tenemos una historia más sencilla de comprender, escenas de acción muy fuertes, pero sin llegar a ser excesivo, pero igual que las tres películas pasadas, no es para todo el mundo y es cierto que para entender la película en un 100% debes conocer de antemano algunos mitos, como el de Odín y su mentor Mímir, las Valquirias y el Valhalla, posiblemente habrán un par de cosas que no lograras entender de inmediato porque en ningún momento te explican las creencias y culturas de la época.

By the way, I recommend you to see Frank Frazetta's paintings because the movie was possibly based a little bit on his art. Anyway, The Northman is the perfect combination between Eggers' very characteristic visual cinema and the commercial cinema that the general public likes.
Y no, no digo que si no lees un poco sobre la mitología nórdica, significa que no disfrutaras de la película, solo que si te saltaras pequeños detalles. Por cierto, te recomiendo ver las pinturas de Frank Frazetta porque la película posiblemente se basó un poco en su arte. En fin, The Northman es la perfecta combinación entre el cine visual muy características de Eggers y el cine comercial que le gusta al público en general.
