ORIENTATION
Lou Zhi (Shopie Zhang) is a lawyer who was visiting an exhibition of Only Yesterday that afternoon. The reason why Lou decided to go to the exhibition despite her busy day is because Only Yesterday is her favourite anime.
However, Lou found an unexpected thing when visiting the exhibition hall, namely his diary that he lost during his first year of school. Then the plot goes back to his childhood to adolescence with someone named Sheng Huai Nan (Xin Yunlay).
The relationship between Lou and Nan began on the day Lou's father died in an accident at work, where the boss of Lou's father was Nan's father. After his father's departure, Lou's life with only his mother was chaotic. Lou is required to continue to excel in the midst of mental and economic pressures that hit his mother. Lou's mum kept trying to get the Sheng family-owned company to pay out Nan's father's insurance, and demanded that those responsible for the company be punished quickly.
As Lou struggles to stay in the top 10 in her school, a new student arrives who immediately becomes a top student because he is ranked number one. That student is Sheng Huai Nan. Lou immediately realised that Nan was the same person from his childhood,
Nan suddenly became famous, so Luo did not dare to approach Nan openly. However, there was a sweet indirect interaction between the two. Lou and Nan indirectly exchanged messages on a blank wall on the roof of the school. At that time, only Nan realised that she and Lou were interacting with each other, while Lou had no idea who she was messaging.
The feelings that Lou kept bottling up were finally poured into her diary. Ye Zanyan, played by Li Ximeng, is a very beautiful and talented character in the school. Nan was set up with Ye by the people. Realising that Lou also likes Nan, Ye steals Lou's diary and uses it as a tool to get close to Nan.
CHARACTERISTICS
Lou Zhi (Sophie Zhan). Playing the role of Lou Zhi, Sophie certainly has to make herself a strong, yet unassuming character. The gentle gaze of Lou Zhi's character is naturally portrayed by Sophie Zhang. This is my first time seeing Sophie Zhang's acting, although it's not the type that's really good, but it's not disappointing.
Sheng Huai Nan (Xin Yunlay). He is characterised as a boy who grew up in a rich family and didn't learn much about appreciating the hard work of earning money. Even so, he grows up to be a good boy and doesn't take his friends for granted. You know what's amazing, I may have seen xin Yunlay in other dramas or films a few times, but unfortunately, he's not the main lead like in this film. And I'm sure, despite the 6 rating on Imdb, she deserves to be on the list of actors who should get the lead again. Looking forward to your next work, Xin Yunlay!
INTERPRETATION AND SUMMARY
Like any teen romance film, My Blue Summer is also a light-hearted film and there are many films of this type. However, apart from the handsome and beautiful cast, the soudtrack of My blue summer is very listenable.
