šŸŖ™ How Learning about Crypto is Like Recovery

in #hive-167922 ā€¢ last year

Becoming a Hive crypto-learner for the first time is all these ā€“

  • funny and frustrating,
  • exciting and exhausting,
  • confidence-breaking,
  • and resilience-building.

It's easy to be intimidated without a frame of reference on which to hang all that's oh-so-new. And still, it's yet to be helpful that at B-school I sat with the smart, rich kids on the economics course.

More recently, when I was at @hivefest in Rosarito back in September, I was lost, lost, lost, in the jargon of Day 2. Ordinarily, that kind of thing would destroy my contentment, but after a long high-octane day of all that, I was perfectly fine. Here's why.

It occured to me that "Learnin' to Hive," *(sounds like a dance floor move, don't it?) * and more specifically learning about Hive's first and second layer economies has provided unexpected benefits for my mental health.

"Wait. What? What the fuck does crypto and mental health have to do with one another??," you may ask. In these ways I posit it's a bit like recovery.

  • What you don't know could hurt you.
  • What you've always done will get you what you've always got.
  • Failure to admit you need help is just pride fuckin' with you.

Here's the moral to my wee story. You are in charge of your own crypto learning just as you are of your own personal recovery.

Nobody is your guru. And this is immensely empowering ā€“
even if you have no idea what's up.
Much love! šŸ˜˜
