How about Thread prompts? Feedback needed

in #hive-1679222 years ago

I know that @forexbrokr has dog prompts in threads, @l337m45732 has #gmfrens, and there are other users who publish specific threads and engage in specific topics, but I have never seen a #thread prompt or #threadstorm prompt other than those we had during the launch of Threads, and even though they were successful, I haven't seen any more.

Which is why, for the next stage of our 2023 Adoption Campaign I'm thinking of having a Threads #dailyPrompt where we will have a different topic each and every day of the year for people to engage easily on threads and learn how fun it can be once you get the hold of #threading.

We have Leo Ambassadors, and now we also have Thread Squires. Both of these Leo Power levels will play a key role in the process of mass adoption, which aims to have 5k users by the end of 2023 - but I'm even pointing higher than that.

All we need is the new UI, but that doesn't mean we can start planning ahead, right?

Daily Thread Prompts and Threadstorms

image.png

I have this idea, but I want as much feedback from the Leo Community as I can get. It's not about my idea, but about making it the best idea, even if it has nothing to do with my original idea.

The point is to have the best, most engaging, most attractive and fun way to encourage daily thread usage. So here's my idea:

1 - An account announces the Daily Prompt at 00:00 UTC
2 - Anyone can join this prompt and tag it #dailyprompt
3 - Even if people don't see the announcement, they will see other users engaging in it and they will find out the topic, and they can engage
4 - The topics can be about anything
5 - The daily prompt topic can be selected by a squire or ambassador (with schedule)
6 - The ambassador/squire will be in charge of curating the #prompts of that day
7 - There can be 3 daily winners picked in terms of engagement in the prompt
8 - Threadstorms are allowed
9 - #dailyprompts can include some sort of task, like "Go read this post and give your opinion about it" or "Go reply to this tweet telling them to come to Leo and post your results"
10 - Prompts can include anything blockchain related
11 - Daily prompts can be as simple as "Post a pic of your dog" or as raidy as "Go follow this author on hive, leave a comment, like a post, reblog your favorite post from the author, and let them know you got to know the author because of a thread raid" or as complicated as "Create an account on reddit and comment on this specific post about your experience on Leo Finance, then post in threads a screenshot of your reddit post"
12 - My idea is to make the prompts get harder as every day of the week passes. Monday can be simple as hell while friday can be difficult as fuck. Saturday and Sunday could be bonus, with more leaning towards the fun part of Leo.
13 - Raids are a reality now, we can increase the awareness of Leo Finance by raiding (not shilling) other communities and even other crypto platforms in the form of "Leave a comment, follow, let them know you are there because of a Leo Raid - not inviting them or shilling, just letting them know).
14 - Threadstorm prompts allow users who are interested in the topic to engage on threads and even start their thread journey in case they are not part of LF. Example: Prompt about your garden might interest everyone from the hivegarden community to come and thread here, and then they would stay because of the awesome engagement they will get from ambassadors, squires, other Lions, and the hivegarden members themselves.
15 - Engagement is key, LeoPower and rewards matter, but engagement is what will make people come AND stay. That's the importance of having ambassadors, squires and the LF community engaging every single day. Once we gain traction, the community itself will be so engaging that it will thrive on its own.

If this idea gets attention, maybe we can ask @khaleelkazi to set a button on top of the new UI as "Daily Prompt" and users can click it, and get the task/challenge/topic/prompt of the day.

Gamification

This idea can be gamified. If it gains momentum and then Khal hardcodes it into the UI, then the possibilities are endless for Thread prompts. They could even become LF prompts at some point, who knows. That's like the fourth step of this campaign, and I'm currently trying to shape step one, so help me.

IDEAS

I need ideas, Lions.

I have the skeleton for this initiative that will help us onboard hundreds of users, all I need is for you to provide the meat and personality to the bones.

Leave a comment and help me shape the best Thread Prompt initiative.

Great idea, and I can see an opportunity to link some of those daily prompts with good causes, including some that are worldwide pushes which may be useful for attracting attention to hive/threads, eg, turn of your lights between 8 and 9pn for earthhour. Other things like environmental aspects or healthy living would also be good. Examples being pick up some litter in your neighborhood and post a pic (linking in with @cleanplanet), or eat your 5 fruit and veg for the day and tell us what you ate, or do over 5000 steps, etc. All good options!

Yay !
I can't resist to put CLEANPLANET WEBSITE LINK HERE

Thanks !

We reward those who take care about the environment since July 2018
And we distribute also our own PLANET TOKEN

This suggestion is great, maybe something like poles can also be added? Would give better choice to select daily topic through poles and votes... So much ideas can be experimented but I feel getting poles would be a nice update it it's possible.

Snipe away, could have a good effect indeed. Could be interesting to give people a bit of a heads up, maybe vote on the next topic a day prior.

#dailyprompt sounds like a great idea to begin with and I am sure that we will figure out some more gamification in between to make it more engaging and fun. I like the approach that you want to make it as easy as possible so that more people can participate and enjoy it.

awesome idea. I see we're trying to incorporate the initial idea about #leomarkettalk into #threads. I thin we could have more than one #threadprompt daily maybe covering #hive #bitcoin #cryptonews #games...

Prompts can be a good idea especially to move the people to share their opinion on Hive instead of facebook and twitter. Prompts would create strong tribes and also people would appreciate that their opinion is atleast being read. It'd also lead to podcast, videos etc for other creators to create content on. Which means more traffic, more cashflow and if leofiannce choose to include ads that would also help with revenue.

by raiding (not shilling)

Ha 😂

Big Diff! :D

Was thinking the same, better tell the super shills

Thread prompts is a great idea. People love prompts anything, so I’m sure it will take off and get shape in the process. You got some great suggestions in the comments already.

I have not much to add, but I have a newbie question - what is a threadstorm? 🙈

There is a ton of potential around threadstorms.

I want to see more people encouraged to post high-quality, evergreen threads.

Then duplicating them onto Twitter with a call to action tweet at the end saying that you can get paid by replying on Threads instead.

(Not just pasting a bloody ugly link!! - Repurpose your content to properly format on the platform you're sharing it on!!!)

We'll still get the greater Twitter audience interacting with the Thread and each reply gives us a chance to talk 1 on 1 with a warm lead to say come let me upvote you on Threads.

We haven't even begun to scratch the surface of what Twitter and Threads used together can do for promotion.

My only issue is that even though its evergreen content, threads just disappear into the never never after 2 others post to the main feed.

I wish there was a better way to save and resurface old threads now that tags are extremely short term focused.

I'm onboard. I like your current framework. I'll be brainstorming throughout today to see what I may come up with to help flesh this idea out more.

I like the raids Idea. I think that alone would bring attention to threads and the LEO Community.

Post hijacks where an army of Leo community members "hijack" a post with votes and comments with a tag line under each participants comment warning the author and readers we are still on the hunt and will be looking to hijack some more posts in the future.

Love the idea
I think gamification helps a lot with engagement

I believe it's been said already but we could reach out to other communities on Hive to get them involved as well

Having a daily prompt will help many who feel blank about making threads. Many avoid threads unless it is a requirement for a contest.

This is part of mentorship too, helping people find their way around the system. The growth from this is unlimited.

If we are going to do this I think it would be best to make it front and center for everyone to see. Give them a core topic or a trending news, topic happening that day and place it at the top of the trending list on the side.

The daily Prompt or whatever you want to call it will be changed each day and be a focal point of a threads topic. Anything goes if people write a article about it, a thread about it or just comment and interact on others threads made about it. Then we curators will go through and weigh a little heavier on the interaction on those posts.

What you would have is a side bar of trending hash tags like we have now but with some small changes

*Prompt #TOPIC
#Trending 1
#Trending 2
#Trending 3
Promoted # (Paid Spot) - Daily/hourly/highest bid per hour
#Trending 4
#Trending 5
#Trending 6
#Trending 7

At least at first this should give the community a focal point to interact with and keep coming back instead of totally random or just a mass amount of blog posts being posted. It should encourage engagement and coming back to see what the next days topic is about. This could also change more then daily to highlight new trending news happening but would require someone to manage it rather well and be on top of it.

I love this idea of yours and this will definitely make engagement thrive on threads as this is what the community wants in order to achieve 5000 MAUs on #threads.

Having daily prompts on threads will bring more people here when they see what is happening and what they stand to gain too.
This idea can be fun thereby attracting other users outside Leofinance.

Indeed this is a great idea however from the drawing board to the battlefield there may be tweaks and addons to the idea and I feel the best way to see how the idea works is to put it to test.

Thread Prompts sound like an awesome idea. Bring it already!

Part of this prompt could include crypto technical analysis contests. Maybe #DailyThread #MarketThread.

A group of known professional traders could post on TA in regular leofinance posts and based on that, we can make threads like assignments in response to the taught TA technique at the end of the week. If we choose to make these threads on Fridays, we could even select a tag like #marketfriday in addition for these threads. This way Lions are encouraged to both learn about crypto and thread as they do that. Thread becomes more active and lions learn. Win-win

A prompt is always a good idea. And as it is to gain traffic and hook new users to the threads I think they should not be complicated, on the contrary, they should be simple so that everyone is encouraged to participate. Squires can curate the best threads of the day.

Now there could also be a separate initiative of one day a week, a kind of threads task that encourages the promotion of threads inside and outside Hive, which could be like a mini-contest.

And it doesn't have to do with this directly, but I've been wanting to ask for days if you haven't thought about adding to Leofinance including threads, of course, a button to give tips. That would be great to reward the best prompts or tasks for example.

just grinded wow daily quests and it seems here will be another daily quests, i like that idea because everyday grind is fun and if there is achievements , loot and money, then why not:)

Running concurrent prompts will also be a good idea. A clear example of this is what we see with #lpud #gmfrens and dog prompts.

Each or some squires can focus on art, book, music, motivation etc... organize or begin a prompt (niche) that aligns with their interest. Since they are knowledgeable about the field, especially on Hive, they can device ways to involve related communities (although this may be difficult, but we can take the leap to explore).

I remember when the Silver Gold Stackers put up a prompt encouraging users to post their coins on threads that they'll get curated. That's a way of calling out those who align with particular interest. Although, the loophole of that method was that the focus was on curation and we barely had engagement on the related thread.

However, if each squire organizes, promotes, engages on and curates niche thread, we will encourage users to be consistent and bring in other users.

Splinterlands is huge... we can break into the market 😁😁😁 the same with other Blockchain games.

Art and photography is great, with lots of communities on Hive.

Music also has a potential market with lots of musical Communities in different genres.

Poem, motivation and other book inspired or fiction writers... yea.. we have lovely communities on Hive.

Sports is killer 💥 a sport fan can ginger sports argument.

Finance related matters... this is da HOME!!

If we have one or two squires handling each niche... especially a niche that they are already involved in On Hive and understand the workings there... then we can conquer Hive little by little.

Conquering our Home is essential before we conquer the world. 💥

a Threads #dailyPrompt where we will have a different topic each and every day of the year for people to engage easily on threads and learn how fun it can be once you get the hold of #threading.

This is just a perfect idea. One thing about short content and threads is that because of the frequency of it, sometimes users simply run out of ideas. It happens so often, not that you do not have the desire to start a conversation, but there is nothing to write about.

So a prompt will be so amazing as it will give users something to do - write a short post, learn about a new project, engage, discover a passion niche, etc.

And when we have different things to talk about or do each day of the week, it becomes interesting for everyone.

I would like this to be a core feature of the new UI if possible, and cant wait to support it.
