Chasing the High of Achievement

I think growth is addictive, that once you begin to unlock some cool potentials you don't want to stop. It is one thing to know that you can do something that could change your life, but actually doing it and seeing the influence it immediately has on your life makes you want to do more. That is how it feels to grow and improve the quality of one's life.

Growth can manifest in different ways and frequencies for everyone. It could be spiritual growth. Finding out the immense possibilities your mind is capable of comes with a high. Every step makes way for another as you seek to unlock new levels of mental growth.

Financially, it could look like having an interest in something - a skill or a business idea; committing your time and resources to it, resolving the challenges you encounter. When the results starts to roll in, it makes you want to keep going. The more you invest, the better you get at your craft.

The desire to be better is what drives excellence. You have to care enough to show up because every effort matters. An interest could become a passion that reaches great levels with a little effort and consistency here and there.

In the spirit of locking in, this is a reminder to show up for yourself, no matter how little. Growth takes place with both micro and large doses of resources.

I want to stay addicted to getting better at everything I am doing, it makes me feel good about myself and that is the kind of internal validation I am attracting this year.

If you gamble and win, you would want to do it again and again. I want to feel such high that keeps me reaching greater heights but with a different kind of drug, not gambling. I do gamble though, sometimes. I will share the projects I tend to gamble on everyday with little to no consequences, on a later post.

Thank you for stopping by. ❤️

I completely agree. However, although this addiction is primarily good, it becomes concerning when you fall in love with growth of a certain aspect of your life so much that it triumphs every other thing in a detrimental way. Like fattening your bank account when you actually need to focus on eating to stay healthy. I’m not sure this is the best way I could’ve presented the analogy, but I hope it suffices to make my point. Nice post.
