My First Crypto Airdrop

Hey fren.
Today I received an airdrop. It’s nothing huge but I am happy and proud. As a newbie in the airdrop hunting game, I have learned to approach the game with very minimal expectations. I have had high hopes in the past and gotten heavily disappointed. Turns out, you can’t afford to always take developers’ and project owners’ words for what they say. “Airdrop” has become a popular tag that serves as ab efficient clickbait.

I have encountered series of projects that seem promising at first, with lofty roadmaps and bogus incentives, only to end up disappointing the members of their community. I’ve interacted with some tedious testnets that ended up sidelining their community members by not keeping to their word of distributing airdrops.

Other times, it is the projects you neglect to participate in that end up blowing up and rewarding their users. For instance, wormhole was one project I kept postponing, only for them to launch their native token and reward their users beautifully. Funny thing was that it wasn’t all that tasking; all that was required was to use to their platform to bridge the tokens available.

Airdrop farming is a game of chance, luck, and probability. You really can’t tell what will take and what wouldn’t. However, as with everything, consistency does pay; you just don’t know when it will pay. My opinion is that as a beginner, you can’t solely rely on airdrop farming as a means of income. You ought to have something that already does a fine job of sustaining you. Airdrop farming should be secondary due to its lack of certainty.

Another important reason you should already have a source of income is for the sake of resources. Airdrop farming is not cheap; some of them are free but some aren’t. For some projects, especially mainnets, you would be required to make some deposits and bridges. Some would require you to run a node for which you would need to purchase VPS. Etc.

Before you venture into Airdrop farming, you need to be mentally, emotionally, and financially prepared for it. You must learn to be at peace with loses and celebrate both your small and big wins.
Tonight I am celebrating a small win.
A win is a win.

Thanks for stopping by. ❤️

I was in the airdrop hunting game some years back but I stopped due to frustration or probably I will say I didn't have adequate knowledge how the airdrop game works. One of the things I will just advise you to do is to pay careful attention to the coin and make sure you cash out in profit as early as possible
