Ask Leo: Will The Queens Image Be Removed From The UK's Money

in #hive-1679222 years ago

Hey Hivans,
I was watching a TV program about the Queen's sad exit this morning when suddenly a question popped in my head, will the Queen's image be removed from the banknotes of the United Kingdom? I took some time to ask questions and here's what I found out.

The Queen's image is engraved in the currencies of not only the United Kingdom but on the currencies of countries like Canada, Australia, and New Zealand amounting to billions of dollars worth of money.

This makes it extremely difficult to face out in a short period of time. The banknotes will continue to be used for a long time to come.

The Queen's image will eventually be replaced with the portrait of His Majesty King Charles III but, it will be done gradually. The King's Portrait will also be placed facing a direction opposite to the Queen's usual pose on the notes.

In a notice released by the Bank of England, it was confirmed that all banknotes with the image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II are legal tender and will continue to be used in the country.

It was also stated that the Queen is the first monarch to have her portrait placed on the Bank of England banknotes.

May the Queen rest in peace.

Thank you for reading.
