While the government is busy chasing end-to-end encryption protocols, AI is causing mayhem across the digital ecosystem.
Usually when something new pops out, a huge number of individuals tend to seek means to exploit it, regardless of who gets harmed in the process. We see this everyday, weirdly when it got to crypto, the governments took leverage to kick against the decentralized finance economy like exploitation and illicit activities hasn't always been a norm.
As far as we know it, every system gets used for one bad thing or the other, but nothing beats tradition finance structures of course, but sure, keep calling crypto out to be the hub for criminals and terrorists, lmao, you think we are that stupid to not know that actual terrorists pulling the strings on global crisis are smarter than that?

Artificial Intelligence is a blessing and a curse
In a lot of ways, artificial intelligence is a great addition to the digital economy and the world at large.
With AI, we can complete certain tasks faster, this efficiency enables us to work beyond the limitations of humans, thereby creating structures for next level value generation. However, a system or technology this good comes with its flaws.
Well, flaws are never actually realized until the right hands take hold of certain things.
The downside of artificial intelligence is that it could be weaponized and when I say that, I don't necessarily mean those Sci-fi shit you see in the movies, but that's quite one of it.
As we should already be accustomed to it by now, there are several ways to make weapons that create wars, that sometimes when I see that little message on leofinance thread that says "make words not war" I tend to chuckle because some part of me is thinking "Wars start as words".
While I understand and love the idea behind these tiny messages here and there, for the focus of this post, words are weapons for wars and the establishment seeks to neutralize words(weapons) that challenge their authority and spread words(weapons) that enforces their agendas.
So effectively, artificial intelligence can be used as an instrument for censorship of information and also as a channel for false publicity or misrepresentation of data or information. This is already happening even though many enjoy the luxury of ignoring it, but I understand that this is because it hasn't directly affected them because once what goes around comes around, then the deep slumbers exit the room.

Porn on its own is already a big industry, however, child porn seamlessly sells more, weird? I know most of us understand that pedophiles rule us in numbers across various authoritative establishments but what can one do against guns and money? Very little unless you have more of the mentioned.

These images, generated through artificial intelligence, have been altered to remove the clothing of the girls, raising serious concerns about privacy, consent, and digital safety. With several AI image generation software now populating the digital space, some bad actors have been leveraging this craze to assault people - mostly females - reportedly so far as victims to gain monetary value from them.
The linked report highlights that there was attempted extortion using these manipulated images and that there are fears of these acts spreading and leading to a wildfire of innocent people's images being doctored into pornography and sold online.
With artificial intelligence making deep fakes even much easier, it is obvious that this will be a practice many will indulge in, making the digital space unsafe for many more.
Can AI combat this?
I mean, in some ways, yes. AI companies or projects can combat these acts by enforcing identity verification and data retaining for the use of their services. Sure, this would mean a lot privacy-wise but the cost is obvious.
But let's be honest, this won't work pretty well when companies like Metal are building open-source AI softwares so basically, with more open source AI developments, more is being given to bad actors to leverage.
So while KYC or even blocking of certain commands or keywords can help reduce these practices, open source AI developments will make it harder to be eliminated.
The good news?
The average bastard doing something this wicked and disgusting won't be a programmer let alone be good at it or have the luxury of wealth to invest in other programmers plus there's the risk factor of having an associated third-party in such business, so the numbers will be drastically reduced in the process unless the pedophiles in the houses of our established government invests in it themselves, sad potential reality? Yes!
It's an urgency for individuals out there to reduce putting images of themselves online and also a need to trust only a few with them offline.
Shits are happening and with AI, even the government will not be able to do much, not that I think they even care.
