There are new definitions being created for blockchain games. These are some new concepts; nobody cared about this game genre in the past. These days blockchain games are becoming very popular and that is why people would like to compare it with the other types of games and come up with questions like these. Gone are the days when people play games only for the fun element. Today people prefer playing games not just for fun but also to earn money ever since that possibility was created.
We have to thank blockchain for creating that possibility. Today every individual has a chance to earn by playing games and also to make this their real-time job and earn a decent amount of income for their living. There are many people who are having their major part of the income generated from blockchain gaming. It can be surprising to read this but the entertainment industry is slowly shifting towards the possibility of not just creating fun elements but also towards providing some earning opportunity to the players.
Money takes the priority
I was thinking that people would still love fun and would like to play a blockchain game for fun but it is not fully true. When it comes to a blockchain game, even though people expect some fun elements inside the game, they want the game to provide them with some good earning opportunities. I personally see Blockchain technology as a great aid to create a market around the game assets and make people trade them but beyond that people expect this technology to give a lot more empowerment to earn money by just playing games. This is what we call play2earn game where people play the game to earn money from the game.
The earnings inside the game in the olden days used to be virtual money that could not be taken out but today with the help of this technology anything is possible where people can take their earnings out of the game and invest in something else. It is also an equal balance where people also invest money into this game for the fun element. When there is both investment and taking money out, it becomes balanced out. A new economy is created around the game and people trade their game assets for profits.
Fun part is still an expectation
It would be wrong to say that people play games only for money. We are not there yet. I would personally say that after we have the opportunity to play games and earn money, the interest in playing games that are fun is gradually going down. I personally stopped playing games just for fun thinking that I'm wasting my time on games like that. I started thinking that instead if I spend my time on games that would reward me, then it is better.
In spite of all that we are all fun lovers and even though we admire blockchain games, we all want to have fun elements inside the game and don't want to play games only for earning money which can even be done from passive investments. There are some games on the Hive blockchain that are fun to play but people who don't find time do a passive investment inside the game and earn decent money not willing to explore the fun possibilities. They might get involved if there are better fun aspects in the game.
