The price of Hive is continuously rising. This is a good sign, but we still don't know how big it can be this time. Many coins have shown a good rise in the last month, and this, I guess, is a usual thing before Christmas. Last year, too, there was a pump, and a year before that, too, there was a slight pump, if I'm not wrong. I have been thinking a lot about profit booking.
So far I have been powering up a lot of Hive in the last few years. Ever since joining Hive, I have not done a power down even once. I got the opportunity to purchase a lot of Hive and powered it up to show my support for this chain. But there has to be a moment to book profits and sell Hive. Last year when the price of Hive was very low I liquidated my HBD holdings and bought some Hive. Today I'm thinking that it can be the right time to do the opposite. I have to start liquidating my Hive little by little and sell some Hive for the sake of profit booking.
Keeping Hive as just Hive power is not going to yield a great APR I guess. When the market is right we have to make use of it by doing some profit booking and when the market is not good again, we can make use of the funds to do some purchases to increase our holding. Hope this can be a good strategy. Sometimes we might even get the opportunity to do some swing trades.
I currently have close to 125k Hive power. In a day or two I would like to power down a minimum of 25k Hive and then continue to hold 100k Hive power. This way I can sell 25k Hive when the price of Hive is crossing 50 cents. I would like to take a chance and do this experiment. I don't know if the price of Hive will cross 50 cents right now or not but if that happens, it definitely is a great opportunity.
There is no harm in believing it and giving it a try. Worst case, I can still power it back to the account. Without these 25k Hive power, I guess 100k is already a good amount of Hive and it also gives a good amount of curation rewards. If we are all lucky the price of Hive can even reach a new all time high value. Hopefully, I should have some Hive with me at that time to book some profits.
