We are getting into August and today is the power-up day. Something makes me feel that this year is going very fast compared to the last year. We are already very close to the end of the year. The price of Hive is still in the downtrend and I would say that now is the right time to accumulate more Hive. When the next bull market happens and if the price of Hive hits over 1 dollar, it will be a great opportunity to book some profits. To book a good amount of profit when the price is over 1 dollar, I have to make some investments now when the price is very low.
I made some of my friends invest when the price was 50 cents. They were happy to invest and by looking at their portfolio, I feel very sad because their investments are now half the value. But the regular APR is still happening and that's a good thing. Maybe when the price of Hive recovers, their account value will also become better.
Similar to last month, this month also I had some liquid Hive with me and I thought it could take a lot of time for the price of Hive to recover. So the best thing would be to do a power-up so that it can at least get me some passive income in the form of curation rewards. I managed to power up 2000 Hive this month. I can do more than this but I did not want to put all my eggs in the same basket. Hopefully, I get more opportunities on Hive so that I can increase my Hive power even further.
Above is my power-up data on Hive. I have managed to power up very small amounts this year but in the last two months, I was able to power up a decent amount which would gradually increase my Hive holdings. I wish this downtrend stops right here but stays here for some more time so that people who would like to invest can invest right now.
Hive Stats is a very good website to get a graphical representation of our account growth. Viewing the account growth data visually gives a lot of motivation and it helps us evaluate our presence in Hive. Last month it looks like I got close to 2k HP combining author rewards and curation rewards.
Operating a Hive witness has also been giving me Hive rewards. Mostly it is utilized for the operational costs. I don't have any HP goals for this year but I do have a value in my mind. Let's see if I'm able to reach that value before the end of this year. If I increase the HP value, it would gradually increase the curation rewards I get which is a good thing. I have liquidated all my HBD holdings and I rely on Hive rewards right now. Maybe when the price of Hive goes up again, people will start focusing on accumulating more HBD than Hive.
