We must admit that the Covid lockdown has created a different perspective on working. In many places and companies, it has proved that people can work from home without affecting productivity. Some industries struggled where working from home was not an option at all. But the IT industry is the only one that survived with work-from-home options.
Now that the pandemic is gone, many companies want their employees to come to the office and either work for a minimum of 3 days or 5 days. Some companies have a check on their employees by saying that they won't be getting variable pay if they don't work from the office. Some people find it relieving and others find it very difficult to work from the office.
Remote job opportunities
It became a trend where many people started switching their jobs to companies that did not expect their employees to go back to the office. Many companies started keeping work from office as an optional thing. But since people got used to the comfort of working from home, they want to switch jobs to companies that provide a 100% work-from-home option.
Today such remote job opportunities are coming down. People are expected to work from the office for all 5 days or at least a minimum of 3 days. Some homemakers used to work contracts because of this work-from-home option but now that the expectation is to work from the office, it is hard to find 100% work-from-home jobs.
Trend is changing
We have to admit that the trend has changed both ways. After the Covid pandemic, companies don't expect to call their employees back to the office. This happens in some of the companies and they have declared themselves as a work-from-home company. The main reason here is that they can save a lot of money by not calling the employees to the office. This also helps them plan the office space and adjust accordingly.
There is another trend where the work-from-home culture is long gone and they expect people to be back in the office no matter what. The new jobs are also having the same expectations where they want their employees to continue working from office locations. They don't care about the expenses that are happening. Somehow they feel that the physical presence might help them extract the right amount of work from the employees.
Despite all these ever-changing industries, finding a remote job opportunity has gone down these days because there are competitive offers available for people who make the effort to go to the office location and work. One of the biggest reasons for this is that they want their employees to socialize with other employees and they think that bringing them back to the office will help in this process.
