If you're the smartest person in the room you may either be in the wrong room or in my case highly deluded.
Speaking of people in the room,
How many active members are there in the communities on Hive?
Active Members in My Eleven Communities as at August 20th:
I decided to do a tabular analysis of the 11 communities that I subscribe to by listing the number of members, the active members and deriving the percentage of the members that are active in each community. Blame it on the extra time I have on my hands because of the holidays or the need to cure my delusion.
Here goes...
Community (%Active rank) | Members | Active | (%) |
---|---|---|---|
Foodies | 12,741 | 653 | 5% |
Leofinance(4) | 14,264 | 1,359 | 9.5% |
Dbuzz(2) | 2,996 | 331 | 11% |
Pinmapple | 8,833 | 501 | 5.7% |
Amazing Nature | 7,635 | 257 | 3.4% |
The Minimalist(1) | 356 | 60 | 17.85% |
Self Improvement | 1,634 | 123 | 7.5% |
ReggaeJahm | 344 | 15 | 4.3% |
Natural Medicine | 6,528 | 27 | 0.4% |
Proofofbrain | 5,196 | 249 | 4.7% |
Cinnamon Cup Coffee(3) | 2,005 | 205 | 10.2% |
Of the 11 communities, the three with the highest percentage active members at the time of this analysis were The Minimalist 17.85%, Dbuzz 11%, and Cinnamon Cup Coffee 10.2%. These were the only communities with over 10% of their members being active on my list of communities that I subscribe to.
The Leofinance community was in a close 4th place with 9.5% of community members being active. Leofinance as a community however has the highest number of active members 1,359 in my list.
Highest Upcoming Payouts
Community(rank) | Highest Upcoming Payout |
---|---|
Foodies (3) | 84.81 |
Leofinance(2) | 113.13 |
Dbuzz | 4.23 |
Pinmapple (1) | 175.85 |
Amazing Nature | 17.06 |
The Minimalist | 6.07 |
Self Improvement (4) | 41.76 |
ReggaeJahm | 0.14 |
Natural Medicine | 0 |
Proofofbrain | 19.13 |
Cinnamon Cup Coffee(5) | 39.78 |
The communities in my subscription list with the highest Upcoming Payout at the time of this analysis were Pinmapple, Leofinance, Foodies Bee Hive and Self Improvement. Bear in mind that that votes on each post may have little to do with the community in which the post was made and moreso on the reputation of the hiver and the content of the post itself. For example, the post with the highest votes listed here have a reputation above the 70 mark, contain several pictures, are well laid out and typically have over 900 words. Consider also that the high reputation may have come about as a result of making consistently high quality posts.
Dbuzz posts for example, don't tend to have high votes as the community is seen as more for microblogging. Typically short posts don't get alot of upvotes and are even downvoted at times. Even so, with 11% active member rate, Dbuzz clearly has some appeal to some hivers who have an interest in microblogging.
The analysis above is not intended to be considered financial advice or any kind of advice on which communities to join or not join.Additionally, the information presented here is limited to the 11 communities mentioned and does not take any other communities into account.
