Yesterday, I found out that LVL, the main token of PsyberX, has been ported over to the Avalanche network. The aim of this move is to distribute the LVL token to a wider market outside hive.
While distributing LVL token is a solid idea, there's also the marketing aspect of this move. Thanks to this move, more people, also outside Hive, are going to know about PsyberX.
PsyberX is working in the background and trying to drive up interest in the game. I for one, am already a believer in the project, evident in the regular purchase of LVL tokens on hive that I've been doing for a while.
Setting up Metamask
Most of my activities in networks outside hive have been because of projects within. I've interacted with Binance smart chain, Polygon and now Avalanche, because hive projects are there.
So for the first time, I decided to setup an avalanche wallet on my metamask. It was pretty simple to be honest and once again, I didn't even have to use a different wallet address.
Just like Polygon, and BSC, the Avalanche network can also be used directly on Metamask. Here's how to link your metamask to the Avalanche network;
In your already installed metamask extension, go to "add network" and then input the following information in the spaces provided
- Network Name Avalanche Network
- New RPC URL https://api.avax.network/ext/bc/C/rpc
- Chain ID 43114
- Currency Symbol AVAX
- Block Explorer URL https://snowtrace.io/
After linking your metamask, you will naturally have to buy some AVAX to enable you to make transactions on the network. From my research, the Avalanche network is one of the cheaper options available, with transaction fees topping at 20-30 cents.
So with as little as $5 of AVAX, you're good for a decent number of transactions. AVAX is available on most central exchanges and is currently trading around $27 according to coinmarket cap, at the time of writing.
Finally, you will need to add the contract address of LVL token. This will enable you to actually see the LVL token that resides in your wallet. The contract address for LVL is 0x33c7CA334A963e9C8c8b105AA097a7E392a286C7.
Free LVL on Avalanche
If you've setup your wallet address, you'd like to test it out by receiving LVL. Right now, there's a giveaway on Twitter that you can receive LVL tokens for free.
Simply go to this tweet by Royal Reptile and drop your wallet address. If you've set everything up and received confirmation that you got rewarded LVL, then you should see LVL in your wallet address like below.
Where to trade LVL on Avalanche
If you want to buy more LVL , then you can go to either Pangolin, TraderJoe or Embr. There are liquidity pool on all the dexes, so you can easily exchange AVAX for LVL in all of them.
What we're seeing here is PsyberX taking conscious steps to distribute LVL token to a growing network. Avalanche was launched in September 2020 by a New York-based team called Ava Labs. In a short space of time, the project has rapidly grown and right now, AVAX coin is already a top 20 coin by way of marketcap.
I presume the aim is to build hype and interest in the first-person shooter game being developed. The components are slowly being pieced together and hopefully, we're going to have an awesome product when it eventually comes out in full.
