It really feels at least to many including myself that the altcoin season came and went. Mainly if you take a look at most places you'll see a small alt coin season that lasted around a month and now has tanked back down to levels we saw just at the start of when levels started to rise.

This right now has the crypto markets and in particular the alt coin markets in a rather negative sentiment at the moment. I mean even look at hive and Splinterlands for example. Bitcoin rallied from 50k to 95k and hive and splinterlands assets hardly even moved. And that's not just here on hive that's a vast majority of all alt coins at the moment.

There are however some that have held and increased in value during that time though but they are far and few in between. This main revolves around Solana because even the big daddy of them all Ethereum is seriously on the struggle bus.

Altcoin Season Canceled?

So is the alt coin season canceled? While many think so and the general feeling is that it is there are other things going on right now which I would call a consolidation factor.

While most people are feeling doom and gloom about everything what's happening is a massive accumulation by big players from those selling out on the doom and gloom and building various large projects that will allow them to tap into even more revenue generation.

The convergence is going to be incredible important to watch because once it starts happening it's most likely going to gain steam rather quickly and push markets to highs we couldn't even think of.

You're mainly opening up crypto to a massive multi trillion dollar market with assets like stocks, bonds etc that can be easily traded on the regular at any time. The time frame on that however to really start seeing action seems like it will be at least another 6 months and personally I feel like you're even pushing it for saying end of this year 2025.

This tradfi to defi convergence is something we are starting to see a lot of places attempting to prep for and be ready for when the government flips that switch and puts the ok on certain things. These markets have MASSIVE amounts of revenue in fees to gain from this and will make a lot of governance token people rich as long as their core platform is the one that's used and without any real issues.

That will be one of the big cases for crypto will be errors and hacking rates which could really throw things off in a big way so it will be interesting to continue to watch that and see if people move towards more adopted systems like Ethereum again over the others which have shown blackouts etc.

So there you have it. While most of the users and markets are feeling like it's over I personally believe we are just more in a slow decline/ stagnate growth period as companies and smart investors stock up waiting on the regulation clarity in which the trigger will be pulled on massive building and new products being release which will most likely hyper active all markets into a growth phase again.
