If there's one sector I love and hate at the same time it would be the crypto gaming sector. I love the idea and what it could all be but so far the implementation of it has been rather horrible across the board.

Now the big benefits of crypto gaming is the sheer amount of adoption it can bring to a blockchain without many of its users even knowing they are using blockchain. Hive in particular can do this well with no fee fast transactions and the ability for a game to build a UI/UX over top of it making it seamless and fun in a gamefi type way. In particular I'd like to point out Splinterlands doing this very well.

My Top Crypto Blockchains and Projects To Watch

1) Immutable $IMX

Immutable seems like one of those under rated and not as well known types of platforms. But it's actully rather shocking how many games you might be playing on your phone right now that are Immutable compatible and just what a rather robust and growing system it is.

What's the biggest benefit however with this blockchain is it's strictly geared towards games and gaming development and not all the other stuff. So it does gaming very well.

In terms of active users Immutable is still small compared to other chains like Arbitrum one, TON and Polygon it just passed Ronin in terms of active users and Ronin mainly got theirs from one single popular game called PIXELS.

2) HIVE $HIVE

Hive has a small gaming community but also a very popular game called Splinterlands. The biggest issue with hive is the lack of size and active community but it is growing. There's also a lot of other odd and end games which are pretty popular browser based games and a few new ones we are expecting this year like HoloZing.

Overall hive has a solid blockchain to be running games and more developers really should be getting on board with this.

3) Avalanche $AVAX

You might not think of Avalanche as a gaming space but they have turned there focus towards it recently. There are a lot of games and some older ones that have been around for a while such as DeFi Kingdoms an old favorite. Shrapnel and Off the grid which are games listed on Epic games is another big one that has been gaining attention.

What we are seeing is a new shift in the gaming space. It's only a matter of time before a NFT crypto game launches that's like Marvel Rivals that has been a massive hit. Imagine having NFTs and crypto in that beast. It will happen at some point.

4) Illuvium

I'm going to toss this one in here as it doesn't get a lot of attention even though it's actully a rather large game with a rather larger player base. I played it for a while myself and earned some token but honestly it's a massive time sink but still fun.

Overall the space is changing and growing. The big change is that most of these games are no longer browser games but instead full built out games on major launch pads like Epic games which are attracting a huge amount of new players which means new wallets being created for that blockchain.
