How You Can Help HIVE/LEO Thrive In 2023
Before we roll into the new year I think it's important to go over some key fundamentals about Hive and the layer two token called LEO. By powering up, Owning and buying/selling these two assets I feel you have a stake in the game and your actions will either make it more powerful/worth more in terms of dollar value or worth less if you don't treat it right.
The Mass Evolution
Over the last two years Hive blockchain has seen a massive growth in users. However only a small portion of them use the blogging/curating feature of hive and instead use front ends in which those front ends provide the resources for their users to perform interactions. The biggest explosion of this was Splinterlands which not only sparked a massive rally in it's assets but also hive itself as more and more resources became needed for the onboarding of new users.
Since then we hit a major bear market and I'd say one of the worst ever for crypto and even the world. Because of that we have seen prices tank but I have to say Splinterlands assets even with the major dips have still outperformed the rest of the market. Sure my assets have lost about 2/3 of their value but in terms of when I bought them to now many of my assets have grown and held a higher value even during this bear market. I call those base layers where assets rally like crazy and fall back down after the hype. However that new base line is higher then when the rally started and we see this across many cryptos and crypto assets.
Keep in mind the boom for Splinterlands was one single application on the hive blockchain and saw great adoption and usage because of it.
The Next Evolution
While the Splinterlands game app is all good and stuff it is still limited in nature to people who want to play a game or invest in a game. However the next evolution of hive done by LEOFinance is an evolution that has zero limits. Instead it's advancing the hive blockchain to be more like a social application much in which we are used to like Twitter.
As of writing this twitter boosts well over 200 million users. When you put that into perspective for hive accounts at roughly 6,000 you can see what a massive amount of room for growth there is. My hopes are that the new threads feature catches on much like twitter and there's fun engaging content on there which attracts people to take part in the platform just because of the content and not because of the monetary value. That monetary value will come later and should not be the main driving factor or marketing factor for the platform.
This next evolution of hive/leo if done correctly could very well foster in thousands in not hundreds of thousands of new users to the hive blockchain and start exposing them to many other on going projects that are on hive as well. The network effect of threads has huge potential.
How Can You Support It?
Simply put treat it like a platform you would want to visit and interact with. That means no spam, ask questions, replay and comment back on others posts and engage. Real quality engagement is going to be critical to the success of threads for LEO and for hive. Without that engagement and without people using it correctly to create cool content to interact with it will fail. So use it the right away and support and foster healthy growth on the new front end.
The massive potential and massive possible success of all of this including the value of the Hive and LEO token will come down to each one of us curating and use the front ends in the best possible way.
There you have it... it's as simple as that. Put in the time and effort into creating awesome content and then engaging with others producing awesome content. I would highly recommend not voting or really interacting much with generic off the wall comments and it's crazy easy to detect such comments. Instead spend a little time, read or watch over the short content and write a real comment that relates to the topic or even sparks more engagement from others. This "network" effect is massive and starts with you.
