Love it or Hate it you have to say that BNB has held some solid ground and built a rather robust system. Even with the creator locked up and now recently released from prison the token has been performing rather well holding that number four spot on the total market cap.

BNB does have a lot of benefits going for it. Primarily I've used it for DeFi over Ethereum because of the lower cost in fees. While still a little on the expensive side they often fall below $0.50 for a transaction in defi which means most people can still play the DeFi game and profit unlike the Ethereum network where you need roughly at least $5,000+ invested to cover fees.

Before all of the lock ups and crazy stuff going on BNB was under some heavy pressure from the SEC and operations within the USA. BNB seems to have been one of the casualties of the SEC aggressive nature at the time. However, it's now possible that BNB could end up getting more listings again and be operating in the USA being that BNB along with a vast majority of other cryptos are now labeled as not a security.

What's really wild about BNB is the token is actully only about 5 years old and was launched before the smart contract which came a year later. Of the last year or two BNB has been pushing to better decentralize and more integrated into decentralized applications.

This makes sense because BNB has been under fire not only from governments but also it's users. 40% of the print was given to CZ when the token launched.

BNB has actully have very limited support with it's cross chain features as wrapped funds often under perform the likes of Ethereum. This most likely could again be because most of the tokens of BNB are owned by CZ thus from an investment stand point there's a single person of failure for the token.

BNB Roadmap

One of the projects that BNB has been working on is zkBNB which will help to scale the blockchain. Most of the things you'll see listed here are BNB trying to catch up to other blockchains.

Next on that roadmap list is opbnb which aims to target 10,000 transactions per second and a 10x price reduction. Now when you compare this to other newer blockchains that 10,000 transactions per second really isn't saying much. A lot of these legacy style blockchains still suffer massive throughput issues.

A new fund was also created in order to support the growth of the project overall. The key focuses seem to be Stablecoins, payments and RWA (real world assets). Now don't forget BNB already dipped it's toes into RWA a bit too early when they allowed people to buy stocks and well that didn't end well.

BNB while being a massive blockchain and value seems to be lagging behind other blockchains and in a catch up phase at the moment. The demand also seems to be diminishing and with lower fees coming I really feel like this token and blockchain is going to start to suffer in terms of growth.
