I haven't heard or seen much myself coming out of the bitcoin conference in Nashville for some reason so I wanted to pull all the good information I could and get it out there.
The conference started yesterday July 25th 2024 and runs until July 27th. Now there's also other conferences that happen but they are located in other countries. For example in October Amsterdam and December Abu Dhabi.
Some of the big note worthy speakers such as Donald Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Cathie Wood, Michael Saylor a number of senators and congressman but also youtuber names such as Aaron Arnold and a whole host of other people it's rather an impressive one. You can check them all out here: 2024 Bitcoin Speakers
Day 1
So far on day one we have seen a few speakers show up. One in particular caught some interest and reinforces what I said the other day about Blackrock and other large cap ETFs of not really being interested to launch another one outside of Bitcoin and Ethereum. That's because Bitcoin is the gold standard and Ethereum is the platform on which MANY of these companies have chosen to build on top of.
This was reinstated via the interview with VanEck investment manager who also stated this in his interview on stage. So those Solana people might be waiting for a very long time if they think a ETF is coming their way.
Outside of this no major reports came from the event that have been note worthy. The only other thing was a company announcing they bought a bunch of bitcoin as a reserve for their company. Which this is becoming more and more common and why you want to be stocking up on as much bitcoin as possible.
Day 2
Ah day two is here and the event is now well on it's way. The first day is normally slow as people get settled in and arrive at their hotels, check out the place etc. So day two should be filled with more news worthy events and information coming out of it. At the time of writing this we are only about half way into the day for the event so expect bigger announcements later.
I'll be posting those over on InLeo Threads
So far today we got note of the secret service locking down the place and doing their scans which is a normal process for when a candidate or a ex president is visiting an area to give a speech.
Now an interesting one came when Jimmy Song took the stage and criticized finance institutions like BlackRock there. And I'm going to be honest with ya I fully back that mainly because Bitcoin was developed to get us AWAY from such things and start restoring the power back to the people.
However people got greedy and wanted to see bitcoin moon and so a push towards regulation began which then entered in these middle men. Yes Blackrock etc take FEES on these ETFs. These fees range from 0.20% to 1.5% (grayscale) Blackrock takes 0.25% and Fidelity takes 0.39%. These are those middle man hidden fees that many people don't talk about which add up in a HUGE way for these companies.
Have you been watching the conference so far? If so what's been a big takeaway moment for you?
