Recently, I discovered that my creative writing juice flows freely when "I dey wash clothes for my backyard." Yes, during laundry hours. The majority of all the posts I put out were written when my soft hands are soaked in water. It's almost like a problem for me because I could spend 2 hours washing a polo and jeans. You know why? When I start, the ideas begin to flow, and I would have to take the scrubbing gently to get the full gist upstairs. Once I do, I quietly wipe my hands, tiptoe like a man going to peep through the window to see if the wife is cheating on him. I do this until I get hold of my writing material, and I begin to unleash the juice. When I'm done, I return to my backyard to continue my washing.
Just as I'm about to bend down, I could notice another creative excitement melting down. I will pause and allow the gods to talk to their servant. Maybe I've a path with water. Just maybe. During this moment, I would appear as a statue. I have to stop people from being around me during my wash hours because they will keep laughing at me. Imagine me acting so strangely. The ordinary mind will not understand me except Athena. She's the only one that understands me during those moments. Now, I'm thinking of becoming a washerman or asking my neighbors to allow me to handle their laundry for free so that Athena, the ancient goddess of ideas and wisdom, can visit me often.
