Hello Splinter nerds
This week's Splinterlands battle mage secret is Shades of Gray a rule in which only neutral monsters can be used.
Players often rely on their summoner to get the win in this kind of battle because the summoner makes the difference if the players use the same monsters.
It is one of my favorite rulesets and Lorkus Summoner made me love it... Magic is winning!
I had the Shades of Gray
with two other rules.
Aimless: In this rule, all monsters have the
scattershot
ability which makes their attacks aimless, they just attack any monsters randomly.Ferocity: All monsters have the
Fury
ability which does double damage to monsters with theTaunt
ability, so you don't wanna use a taunt monster in rules like this.
3 splinters were available, fire, water, and death, does this matter since all the monsters are neutral and you will meet the same monsters in each splinter, but of course, the splinters matter because each splinter has different summoners with awesome abilities.
The opponent surprised me with Possibilus the wise
summoner while I used Lorkus
the magic and melee bender.
Arkemis The Bear
The Bear is winning, I was not surprised the opponent also used it as his tank, the Bear is the protector that gives armor to all the team, he also has the forcefield
ability that protects it against heavy attackers of 5 and above, The fear of Venka the vile
always make me use the Bear as a tank but aside that, he is a good fighter and a destroyer too.
Grimbardun Smith
The fear of magic monsters made me use Grimbardun, it has a void
ability that can reduce the effect of those magic hits on it, it is an aimless ruleset so the attacks would just be flying anyhow so needed a monster as strong as Smith to take as many hit as possible without getting affected much when Bear was eliminated, it was the responsibility of smith to lead the team to victory and it did not fail me as it keeps taking those hit from the opponent but also replenish some back due to the leech ability it got from Lorkus
.
Moxian Rebel
Moxian was used to power up Smith, her weapon training ability gave Smith a magic attack so it could also perform some damage and not just be there to take the hits, unfortunately, Moxian did not last long in the battle before it was eliminated, she did her job by making Smith more useful and that was more than enough.
Nalara Geinek
The options were limited and I could predict the opponent was going to use magic monsters so Nalara was used to weaken the magic of the opponent, and slow him down while my team used that opportunity to eliminate his monsters one by one. Aside from the silencing ability, it also has the `stun`` ability which did great in stunning the opponent Dry Bone Raider and Doctor Blight making them lose a chance at attacking in the round they got stunned.*
Supply runner
As his name implies, he is supplying speed to his team members, he gave all +1 speed and Splinterlands is all about speed, the first to attack often wins.
Magi of Chaos
Magi did some heavy damage before it was eliminated, I thought the opponent was going to use Grimbardun Smith but he didn't...
I also felt the opponent used the wrong summoner because he only used 2 melee monsters, it is worth it sometimes but my defense was so tight that there was no chance for him.
