Where Did All Your Hive Go? (When it Went)

I just received a new badge from @hivebuzz telling me that over time I have received a total of 8000 hive power through posts, comments and curation.

Wow!!! That's pretty amazing. At the current Hive price that is a total of $3,344.00. I'll take it!!! But, I only have 3273 hive in my wallet. So where did my other 4,727 hive go?

Well first of all, I've never sent any hive off chain since the original fork. So it is technically all there.

My first thought was how much Hive did I convert to HBD? Well, not much. I looked back at some attempts of swing trading to earn more hive and I found about 160 total hive going into HBD that I hadn't converted back yet. So it didn't go there.

Then it started to down on me. I went Leo crazy when it launched and spent $1,000 worth of hive on Leo. It wasn't my finest moment but honestly most of the hive I've earned since leo launched has come from @leo.voter voting up my leo posts. In fact it is probably most of the 8,000 hive that I've earned so a blessing in disguise.

I also spent a bunch of hive on cub and staked it. So it's still there, it will take some years to pay that back. Same with Polycub. I'm not mad because again, I owe most of my earnings to the expanse of the Leo community.

It turns out that the biggest chunk (not sure how much) went to splinterlands. Buying packs and cards and whatever silly things I did over there. I have a few good assets but I'm probably the worst player in the game. In my mind spending hive on splinterlands was my biggest gamble. Now had I had the guts to sell my cards for profits along the way I would have made more hive but I've never sold anything.

In the end, that may turn out to be my biggest mistake. Not taking profits. I've never done, hadn't really considered it and honestly have no really good escape plan when I need it.

So in the comments tell me where your hive has gone when it went somewhere.

I think most of mine got thrown into my Splinterlands account. I wonder if this measure / statistic counts prior STEEM, as opposed to just HIVE since the fork.

I am just considering hive. I sold my steem for BTC. Not much at the time but I went forward with hive only. I did buy some alpha packs with steem.

Nice Hive earnings and quite an impressive amount.

On the other side I've started looking at this more analytically: I have joined Hive in 2017 and now after about 5 years I have 30k Hive. If I divide that per year it results around 6k Hive or $2,400. To tell you the truth this is not a big amount for the time, effort and investments spread on multiple projects. If this would go up to $10,000 per year, than I think the time invested would worth it. Just need Hive to be priced at $1.5 for that to happen.

It's a very impressive amount. Especially considering that making any income online from "blogging" was really hard before 2008 or so. We've come a long way. Plus we always have that hope that hive will get a higher price. It would be nice if it $1.50 and stayed there lol

I think the payouts come as half HBD and the other half HP. So I am not sure if that affected the payouts. I also think that the beneficiaries of the post get a portion of your paid HP too.

True, but I'm referring to the amount of Hive Power I received according to @hivebuzz . That doesn't reflect HBD and beneficiaries. (at least I don't think)
