Peakd: An easy guide and feedback on accessing with Hive AUTH

in #hive-1679223 years ago

Peakd is the most popular frontend on Hive, the work the team has put in place is massive, in order to get a fast and satisfying for any user, from the first experience to the expert user.

The @peakd team has officially asked for some feedback on the new access to the platform through HiveAUTH (Hive Authentication Service), an alternative smart login tool on the frontend. HiVE AUTH does not require any authentication through password or private keys but it will be sufficient to have the Hive Keychain App installed to confirm authentication.

The process is really very simple. Here are the instructions

1. Click Login at the top right of the page https://peakd.com/

2. Next to the Hive AUTH icon write your username and click on the symbol next to it to login

3. The QR Code to be verified through the** Hive Keychain Mobile App** will appear on the next page

4. Open the Hive Keychain App and after logging in, click on the QR Code at the top right and frame the Peakd QR Code

FEEDBACK

I encountered some difficulties in validating the QR Code from the Hive Keychain App. In detail, the App's QR Code reader cannot easily read Peakd's QR Code. After a few attempts, disconnecting and reconnecting the App, I finally logged in.

I use Android v.11, Redmi Note 9 smartphones.

Once the access has been perfected, I consider access to the platform through Hive AUTH very smart as it does not require any key to copy (personally I don't have the keys in my mobile phone) or passwords (too many passwords to remember and I could even forget it!).

Through Hive AUTH I am able to connect from any device and this is a huge advantage for us users.

Thanks for your feedback we'll let @asgarth know about the trouble scanning the QR code. Not sure if it's a common thing but we'll keep an eye on it.
