Splinterlands | Automated Playing Archmage Bot (Easy Step-By-Step Guide)

in #hive-1679222 years ago

One of the main downsides of being a Splinterlands player or investor is that the time requirement adds up like crazy with no real off days without giving up a good part of the returns. Automating your play potentially offers a solution to this and I tested it out making an easy step-by-step guide...

Splinterlands Time requirement

I already made a post on this time requirement issue Splinterlands has created after the big Rewards Update post but nothing really has been done to fix this as it's not seen by the devs as an issue.

After some time of having fun with the new reward system and all the new cards that were introduced, Splinterlands has become somewhat of an obligation again despite still enjoying the game and the fact that I still have to play is something constantly on my mind. This is not the case for the other 2 Play2Earn games that I'm playing ( Mobile MiniGames & Sorare) which don't require a crazy time commitment and are easy to totally forget about during the day?

Solution & Problem: Automated Playing Bots Services

One of the big problems for the economy so far have been the Bot Farms that try to get rewards with the minimum investment possible. The next trend seems to be regular players who are also going to use bots to play for them. The good thing is that this offers them a solution to save a lot of precious time but on the downside, it means that the game will be even more dominated by bots to a point where I can see 90% of the battles as bots playing bots.

I started using the splex.gg Archmage Bot Service last week and it has been a massive pressure off my shoulders not having to play for over an hour each and every day in order to get the rewards and it kind of allowed me to take a mental break from the game for the first time since October 2018 !!

Archmage Automated Playing Step-By-Step Guide

It actually is really easy and similar to the Automated Rentals I wrote about last week (Link) using the Archmage service offered on splex.gg

Step 1: Whitelist Your account on splex.gg by logging in and going to their discord asking to be Whitelisted

Step 2: But an Archmage Token on Hive-Engine. It can also be bought in weekly batches of 50 each week on the website but they are nearly impossible to get as demand is really high and most likely bots are buying them in order to resell at a higher price

I'm not sure exactly what the difference is between the Alpha, Beta & Access pass and I assume the older ones will have less fees attached to them when the the project goes public. Most likely you are also paying too much right now as tokens go for 90$+ while they get sold on the site for 25$ for those who can actually get them ther. I was fine with the idea of losing money on the bot purchase paying a little over 100$ for it.

Step 3: Go to https://splex.gg/accounts disable rentals so your cards don't automatically get rented out and click on the archmage button which should show as long as you have a token in your hive-engine account. If not, just ask support on Discord and they will fix it. There you can enter your private posting key so the bot can play on your behalf.

Step 4: Configurate Your Bot Setting

Here you can set your preferences how the bot will run which is all extremely straightforward and explained on the site.

Step 5: Done, the Archmage bot will now automatically submit battles for you based on the settings you entered and right now there are no further costs that come with it. I assume this will change going forward and you should read their whitepaper before getting in so you know what you can expect exactly.

What To Expect?

From my short experience so far with this bot, I thinks it plays solid enough to get a reasonable win rate compared to playing manually. At times it plays a combination of cards that are more optimal compared to what I would have come up with while at other times it feels rather sub-optimal with strange choices using just level 1 cards. Check this post to see the cards the bot tends to use most.

Conclusion

Automating both my rentals and now also my play has been a massive relief in pressure the game puts on me as a player to spent a crazy amount of time playing each day just to get most of the rewards. While I love the fact that it can easily be automated, it also raises a big concern for the game as I can see services like this becoming mandatory for pretty much every player going forward which will create a game where most of the action is just bots playing bots. I'm not so much worried about human players not being able to outplay these bots even though they generally play quite well but by no means flawless.

I also enjoy how things are going. The only problem is that it is hard to let the bot play enough games due to the capture rate. 25 battles is more or mess the max per day which can be played without hurting your capture rate too much.
I did set my lowest CP at 75, but after a few hours this already has been reached. I have paused it now, so that my CP can recharge. Started with 4 per hour, dropped to 2 per hour and will set it to 1 per hour for during the nights.

just set it at 2 and 85% which will have the bot play enough games at close to optimal capture rate and the ability to play manually whenever you want to.

Interesting tool here. Are these tools safe to use?
Also, it seems quite expensive to use since one has to buy a token

You have to enter your private posting key on the site so assume that gets stolen and once day you will have to change it using your owner key. I assume it will get cheaper and there are also other bots like this around. I think it will be a booming business as demand will be massive from players who no longer want to put up with the crazy time requirements.

Okay I guess one still needs a bit of hands on control for the sake of managing the passwords.

But yeah, nice tool, is there a possibility that different tools could be better than each other in terms of performance in battle?

It's sounds good. It's literally saves many hours daily. And there's chance you get good rewards !

I picked up an archmage beta token last week. Prior to that I couldn't be bothered to play. I just had everything on the rental market. Now though not only have I taken probably 100 cards off the rental market to play with but I've also been upgrading cards. I don't want to combine the cards I have so I've mainly been buying new cards and combining them.

Just got a bunch of summoners to level 4 so I hanging out in Silver and debating on taking on gold. I am starting to set my sights higher though and I wouldn't have done that without the bot. Quite frankly, I just can't be bothered to spend that much time learning all these cards at higher levels.

I've had mine doing 2 per hour and I have it shut off at 50% but so far it hasn't gotten down that low. When it gets in the low 50's it start dropping very slowly.

I've been thinking about setting up a second account and switching the token back and forth. I'd set it to 4 per hour and just move the token from account to account every 12 hours.

I also wondered if that works to switch the token around between accounts, that kind of feels like an exploit. This game and the tokenomics are so crazy how everyone wants to maximuze the earnings as much as possible with the least time wasted. Good luck using the bot, it also kind of makes me want to upgrade cards more. I do love learning all the different cards and combinations though, just the mandatory 1 hour+ of playing each and every day is too extreme. Since I had the bot, I only played a tournament and a brawl on my main account. It's nice to get a break from ranked play.

Someone asked on the discord if they could run two accounts like that and they said it was allowed. Makes sense if you think about it. It's just more fees paid to the archmage devs.

I spend a lot of time now seeing what the bot played. I suck at putting together combinations so seeing what somethign else does with my deck to win is far more interesting. Can't say I'm learning much but I like it still.

Good luck to you too. I do want to start trying tournaments and brawls. I need a new guild though, Mine is defunct.

If you are interested, we have a spot available in our Dec Hunters Guild. What we offer is a friendly guild with an overall facts-based approach, no drama, and voluntary contributions. We are ranked 27th (despite some inactive members with no rank), a level 9 Guild Hall and we plan to move up to Tier 3 Guild brawls. Right now in Tier 2 we pretty much always get a top 1 or 2 spot.

What we are looking for is players with reliability and good communication that are invested in the game and in it for the long run. Your collection very much fits as you should be able to compete in one of the Brawl Tier 3 Gold Frays. I would say have a look and if you are interested give me a shout. I'll mention you as a potential new member in our Guild Discord Channel.

Sounds good to me. Should I just apply?

I've sent an invite, also it you can join our discord server https://discord.gg/XdxHGpBsz5
