Right until the end, 2022 proved to be a difficult year for the crypto industry and led to the bankruptcy of several businesses and investors — but what was the performance of the portfolios of prominent people in the crypto space?
Vitalik Buterin, who is the cofounder of Ethereum (ETH), held a portfolio of $316 million worth of ethereum, which is nearly all of his holdings. Next to ETH, is about $9 million worth of unstable memecoin SHIKOKU (SHIK). All the other crypto properties held in his wallets are worth well under a million dollars each.
Justin Sun - Founder of Tron (TRX) and owner of filesharing protocol developer BitTorrent (BTT) as well as crypto exchange Huobi — held $2.9 billion worth of assets as of Jan. 1, 2022.
Sun’s major holding is ethereum, worth about $430 million. Next, is $60 million of TRON DAO’s stablecoin USDD and $10 million of Compound.Finance (COMP) deposited stablecoin USD coin (USDC) represented by the CUSDC ticker.
Sun holds $8.55 million of true USD (TUSD) deposited to Aave (AAVE) and represented by Aave TUSD (ATUSD) tokens, $3.85 million of Maker (MKR), $1.91 million of Aave-deposited Binance USD (BUSD) as Aave BUSD (ABUSD), $1.64 million of Aave-deposited wrapped bitcoin (WBTC) as Aave WBTC (AWBTC) and $1.08 million worth of dYdX (DYDX) tokens. All the other holdings have a value under $1 million.
