No one knows what the future holds economically for everyone around the world with so much uncertainty hanging over our heads. Being involved in our 'second careers" on Hive gives us a chance to at least have a future. Just by staying active and involved we are growing even if it doesn't seem like much right now.
The beauty about a place like Hive is we have the opportunity right here to make a difference not only to ourselves, but to others we support along the way. Achieving success on Hive is not something you can obtain on your own as you need the support of the community.
Over the years I have seen far too many users who think they can do this on their own and most of those accounts have left or are dormant today. The reality is everyone can be successful if they are part of the community as everyone grows together. Whatever you achieve on Hive is not solely down to you as it does rely on community support to obtain results.
As we grow our own vote values admittedly it does give us the ability to earn more via curation but it also allows us to support more users in their Hive journey making our support we offer more important. This is why staking and growing the Hive Power not only offers you more earning potential, but it is crucial to the Hive eco system.

We have often talked about having a strong middle class on Hive not relying on whale support as this is where the real support for new accounts comes from. When I first started out 99.9% of my support came from accounts that were dolphins or below and now that has evolved as the support is now dolphins or above due to growing as part of a community. This makes sense as I have known these users for over 4 years and why it takes time to grow on Hive as it is a process.
When you start out on Hive their are certain things that need doing and one is building a solid foundation. This foundation is the support you require in order to grow which is built through engaging with others via comments and replies. This is possibly the most enjoyable part of your growth as you do get to know people and is a form of networking. Not everyone will support you, but that is life and what makes this place so real.
Obviously the aim is to move up the food chain and become a bigger fish that can then support the smaller fish who will become bigger themselves. This is the growth cycle on Hive and why it is important to help retain new users along the way. If you are new then you need to work harder in order to be noticed and that is by commenting on posts as that is your secret weapon for growth.
